We hired Home Instead for my Mother after her hospitalization due to a severe fall at home. Karla was very responsive in meeting with us and getting everything in place for her care. The aides were reliable, compassionate and made her feel comfortable. Mother recovered well and I know we will use then in the future when needed!

I have someone from Home Instead coming four days a week to help me and that person is very satisfactory. I'm happy with my caregiver, Diane. They're pretty good with scheduling, but I get frustrated sometimes with the people that fill in. The other day, they had texted Diane about coming to a seminar and she texted them back and said, "I can't be there (seminar) Monday, but I will come Tuesday." Instead of her text going to the person that she got it from about the meeting, it went to the scheduler. The scheduler called me and said that Diane couldn't be here Monday, but would be Tuesday, so I was already trying to find somebody. Then, Diane comes in the door and she couldn't understand how that happened and I can't either. They're not supposed to ever just text when they can't come. They're supposed to call and that's what she's always done. This text got mixed up in the office. It doesn't happen frequently, but sometimes things like that do happen in the office. Diane is dependable and always on time. She's an honest person and trustworthy. I've got multiple health problems and I have to have my legs wrapped and pumped every day and she's learned how to do that. I can't even get out of the chair, and she goes on with the work that she does, like washing our clothes or preparing lunch or whatever without supervision. She likes to keep busy. She likes to keep doing things all the time without me even prompting her. If she didn't have anything else to do, then she will ask me, "What would you like for me to do now?" She didn't do a lot of the things the way we do them, but she has learned to do them the way I want them done and where things go. When she gets something out, she knows where to put it back up. More than all this, I feel like she totally cares how she does things and cares about me as a person. I would say she's a good friend as well as a caregiver. The management insists that Diane and I go through them about everything, but we do not because we care about each other personally. We find that we communicate better between each other than we do trying to go through them sometimes. I don't think they have enough competent people in there. I'm in a continued living facility in the independent part, but I knew the person that Diane stayed with before me and I told Diane if something happened that she wasn't gonna be staying with the other lady anymore, that I would like to have her.

As a full time care giver for my wife who loves to craft, I needed some temporary help. I was looking for someone who was an organizer to help with her craft room and able help take care for her. We contacted Home Instead and they set out to find someone to fill our needs. They found exactly what we needed and what we thought was going to be a temporary situation, turned into someone we could not do without. She is always here on time and ready for whatever is needed from her. She and my wife have a great relationship and besides organizing the craft room, she has my wife once again doing what she loves, crafting. She has also given me the help I needed to get some much needed rest. We have no plans on letting her go. Home Instead worked with us to find exactly what we needed! Thanks Home Instead!

I called Home Instead at my father's request for help. He lives alone, and he was forgetting to take medicine, getting confused while driving, and having some difficulty with daily chores like laundry. I work full time and have three teens, so it was just not possible for me to be there to help during the week. The caregivers from Home Instead have taken him on errands, done light housework, and kept him company in general. It has been easy to change the number of days someone comes by when necessary. Home Instead allows my dad to keep living by himself, and that is important to him.

I want to tell you about my amazing caregiver. She has made my life so much better and easier. She has an outgoing personality. I look forward to seeing her on the days she cares for me. She does what every caregiver should do. She cooks my meals for me. She keeps my house clean and she keeps me clean. Most of all she listens and talks to me as a friend. Our conversations are unlimited. We talk about many things. I don’t know what I would do without her. God bless my caregiver and Home Instead

We are using Home Instead for my mother. Everything seems good so far. The caregiver comes twice a week for companionship, medicine reminders, bathing reminders, and cleaning task reminders. I don't have any issues.

We had Home Instead Senior Care for my mother before she passed away. The caregiver was great. They sat with her, did light housework, prepared the food and helped her up and down and out of the bed. Our experience was great, I didn't have any problems at all. They were always on time and always did everything that we asked them to do.

Home Instead Senior Care sent people out to the house to stay with my husband while I was at work. I got to work with them through the Lutheran Services for the Aging that gave me hours that I could use. It is whoever happens to be available the day that you need them. You don't get assigned one specific person. At the time I had help from them, I think I had three or four different people. One of them was very experienced. She had been a nurse before and had to give up the nursing field that she was in. She found that she liked dealing one-on-one with people, so she was very good at what she did. One I never actually met. She was a person here in case anything happens, and the other one she was in training to be a nurse and getting experience by sitting with people, and she seemed to care very much about the patient. She had even called to request if they could send her out here the next week to stay with my husband, but he didn't make it that long. I was able to call them and tell them that I needed someone. They sent someone out here to decide what kind of help they can provide, and then whenever I needed them to call the person and tell them not to come, they were available for that.
