We got a home attendant from Home Helpers of Huntington - NY who was able to help with my dad's daily needs, helped him use the restroom, helped my mom prepare his lunch, helped my mom do the dishes, bathe him, and dress him. Communication with the agency was very well. It was very easy to schedule care in times that we needed them. They spoke Spanish, so there wasn't a language barrier. Their goal is to help the family get home attendants for their loved ones, which is very good. They have good hours for coverage. I would recommend them because the attendants that they have are very skilled and they are trained.

When they show up, it is good. However, I found out what was going on with the invoices going to my mother's home. She has dementia and the supervisor would tell me that there were cancellations, but the caregiver did not show up. I know a lot of people do not have sensors, but there are no questions about the caregiver's times. I would like the agency to improve on having correct timekeeping and not many cancellations. I have home sensors and they incorrect times are recorded in the system.

Our caregiver only comes once a week, but they help us a lot on that day. We can only afford the single day at this time. We have only had five visits, and three different caregivers. My uncle has dementia and needs a consistent caregiver that he can get familiar with. I would recommend them more if they had more consistency in the caregivers as far as to who is coming.

It's not like you're just talking to a person on the phone, he will come to the house if there is an issue. He's always available if I need something, and is very knowledgeable. I can call and text him. It makes it more family oriented.

They treated him with such dignity and really focused on helping him to regain independence and to make good choices around the home. The company also helped out my mom with her lifestyle. The whole crew was smart, caring and responsible. My parents loved the aides and Charlie and thanked me over and over for sending them to their home. The extra touches that Charlie and his crew provided helped the whole family to feel at ease. This team provided my parents with a sense of dignity and worth!
