NOT SIGN YOUR LOVED ONE UP WITH THIS COMPANY. We were recommended this place by our doc office and were on service for (the amount of time- it two weeks) They gave us NO TEACHING while my mom was actively dying. Came once in a week, then came on a friday, knowing it "wouldnt be long" but no visit scheduled until the next week. We didnt even have mouthswabs in place. They didnt prepare us for what to look for, how to care for her when things changed, we didnt know how things would change or how to help her through the changes. We knew and were prepared.for NOTHING. Worst experience we could have had. My mom wasnt comforted or helped at ALL by these people. We asked why her pupils were so constricted and the nurse didnt even know why it happened! Our neighbor who had done hospice in the past gave us more help and preparation than anyone at this company did. It was a very disappointing experience in the most important times of my familys life. Extremely disappointed in the professiinalism of their nurses- "oh u caught me at the perfect time i havent ordered my food yet" when we called to say my mom had passed. Nothing was good about this company, we were left.out in the cold with no preparation or knowledge on what to do while we helped my mom to br comfortable in her last days. Do not use this company. They told us next week they would come 3 times a week. She passed on Friday and the next appointment was Monday. Knowing that she was close to dying there was nobody there for us. I was with the under impression if somebody was actively dying and about to pass the nurse would be there. Also they gave us the feeling that if my mom has passed in the middle of the night we should wait until the morning to call. I would never recommend this place to anybody. Pros There are no pros Cons Everything about them was horrible

My father was dying from cancer and needed to get home ASAP. They kept trying to put off the start of hospice care by a day, and it took hours of fighting them over the span of two days to get him home the day initially promised. Deb, the intake nurse, was AWFUL. She treated my dad worse than a piece of furniture. She talked to him and knew that he was conscious. But she left him completely bare from the waist down, then went out to her car for a catheter, and left him there struggling to cover himself. Once she got him set up, she kept noting how agitated he was, and we told her that he was afraid, so she decided to sit a few feet from him and loudly and graphically described how she thought his death would progress. He heard everything. She estimated he'd last three days, but she absolutely broke him. He died about an hour after she left, and NO ONE answered the nurse emergency number (I think Deb was the one on call) as we repeatedly called for help. Everyone from Heartland who came after he died was fantastic, but at that point, who cares?

Just know that they will come to the hospital and promise you the moon and then once you are home, they will pare it down to what they typically do. We were told they would continue the IV meds ordered by his doctors. They resisted that once we got home. We were told they would continue to provide therapies as he had just had surgery due to an infection on his knee and needed to regain his mobility. Once we got home we were told they would not do therapies. We were told they would take over all of his medications once we got home. A med ordered by his doctor to replace a med he had been on was continually put off and we were told to continue giving the med his doctor had removed from his chart. I will say, the nurses were all very caring and friendly and supportive. The people who answered the phone were very supportive and available. But there was just a huge difference in what was promised at the hospital and what was done once we got home.

We got Heartland Hospice Services for my father before he passed away. We had a nurse who was supposed to come two or three times a week, but they were coming every day for my dad. A CNA was coming daily. They did offer coming once a week for helping with bathing and things. They were all wonderful with my dad.

Heartland took excellent care of my grandfather. The nurses were extremely professional and caring. The CNAs were kind and gentle. No issues or concerns at all.

I ended up switching my mom to Heartland Hospice. They were there for everything we needed. If we needed them to come out, they did. They were very caring and excellent. I don't have any complaints at all about any of the caregivers. Whenever we called them, everybody was so good to her and to us. They were great with everything.

We had hospice come into the home. I used Heartland and it was very good, I was satisfied. They did what they were supposed to do and I was impressed by how fast they get things done. If they want a hospital there, then you have a hospital there. If they want to change meds, then you have new meds. I was impressed with the power that they yield. The only little hiccup we had was they didn't do a very good job disposing of my father's medications. That was a little messed up but it's minor thing but they were very good about his last days in making him comfortable. I thought they were very good at their job and what they do.

Interviewed Heartland Rockford for my father, who has late stage liver disease. We contacted them initially because of a friend who had used their services, even though our friend had some issues (aide cancels and no-shows), we thought we would at least check them out for ourselves. Initial phone call was friendly, however it took 3 days to get a call back on our referral and we were constantly interrupted, placed on hold, it got ridiculous. When we asked if we could get an aide 5 times a week, we were told we would be placed on a waiting list as they did not have enough staff to cover this. Needless to say, we went elsewhere
