After our family switched to Assisting hands home care. We were unsure if it would match the gold standard of our previous caregiver for our father. In recent weeks Jakayla has taken care of our Dad. I would say the new gold standard. After discussion with my brothers we can honestly say our Dads house has never been so clean. More importantly we have noticed a 180 degree change in our Dad’s mental state. He is smiling, laughing, and talking in a way that we have not seen in a long time. Thanks to Jakayla. She has an exceptional talent for communication, compassion, and understanding. No doubt has been the difference. I also witnessed this first hand as she helped me take our father to a Dr. appointment. A+ effort. Thanks to Jakayla and the staff at helping hands. At this time in our father’s life you make a difference.

We have been using assisting hands for a few years now. I have been very happy with them. The caregiver we have had for the past few years is Shauna. She is an amazing caregiver. She is kind, competent, and wonderful with my parents. They are very comfortable with her, and she has become like family. Couldn’t ask for a better fit. We’d be lost without her.

I called to get information on having someone stay with my sister during the day & evenings in her assisted living facility. I was told a supervisor would call me the next day, which she did. She told me she would call the assisted living facility and arrange to see if she would be able to get in to see my sister, if not (with covid) she would call her and discuss her needs over the phone. This supervisor told me she would call me the next day. No call, I waited another day, no call, so I called them again, the very nice young lady assured me this person would call me back, never did.....so we wasted all this time waiting when we could have moved on. If they didn't want the business all they had to do was call back and tell me so, that way I could have kept looking for someone. Terrible way to do business.

April is now taking care of my mother from Monday to Friday, and she is an angel sent from god. A very kind, energetic and competent angel. Also very willing to cook and go beyond the call of duty.

Have received excellent care for my husband from April 2017 to the present. Assisting Hands' caregivers are friendly, on time, and efficient. They bathe and dress him and apply any patches he might need. Then they move him from bed to chair via the Traxx Lift System.

My caregivers have been very good to me. They accompany me and cook meals for me and also keeps me in a better diet .In order to get to the car or any place, I need a walker or a wheelchair. I still enjoy going out. I wish my caregivers can take me to the store now and then when I needed something. Overall, I’m very happy with Assisting Hands. They treated me very good.

I used Assisting Hands for my brother. They helped him with his daily needs. Some of the caregivers were good but there were a couple who were not.

I have a lady from Assisting Hands twice a week. Her name is Maria and she is an angel in disguise. She comes approximately 5 hours per visit. She is a wonderful lady and I feel comfortable walking out to the door and leaving her in-charge of my husband. I like that she sits and talks with my husband. She tell him stories and play games with him the entire time. She makes sure he is eating the right food. She’s a lovely lady. I am extremely pleased.

I know that all agencies have good and bad workers. I know that they don’t pay them that much, so you don’t get the best people all of the time. There’s been a few people that we like from Assisting Hands, and there’s one caregiver that we like a lot. Most of them come out from Chicago, and it seems like they have a hard time getting out to our place. Transportation has been an issue; most of them don’t drive. I think it would be nice if they could take my mom out in a car sometimes. A lot of the caregivers are from Africa or out the country, so they’re difficult to understand.

Assisting Hands came out and evaluated our home to see what we needed. They placed two wonderful caregivers. We had maintained one but other one left the company. The caregivers were very caring. I feel they have empathy for my husband. Assisting Hands was very amenable to what I needed when it comes to schedule.

They've been very very good. We've had them now for about a year and 3 months and I have a person that comes in 3 times a week. They are very good in making sure that the person is here. Their system for checking people in and checking people out is very very good. I did have 2 people during the night time for about 5 weeks for 8 hours a night. One was just here for one day. The other one was here with all the others and she was very good. Bottom line is that they are flexible in terms of providing their caregiver services. My husband had good relationships with the caregivers. I think it's matter of getting the right fit and they were very good at it. When we started this, I had one person for about 3 days and she already had a pre-planned trip and in her place came Pam who I had for over a year now and she is very reliable. Now she does more of housekeeping and keeping my husband company so I can get out of the house sometimes. The one that we had at night, she takes care of my husband, helps him get out of bed and takes him to the bathroom and things like that. Both of them are doing their jobs properly. I would definitely recommend Assisting Hands to other people.

They are very good in taking good care of my father. I remember when I inquired from them, they got back at me instantly. With the nature of the position we got 2 different caregivers from them and they are in our home 24/7. Initially there were compatibility issues at front with one of the caregivers and they replaced her immediately with someone who is a much better fit. My father was very happy and no longer had complaints with the replacement. It was just one of those things where you would never know if it's a good match until you get in to it and it turned out that one of the people doesn't match and they fixed it immediately.

We got Assisting Hands for my 94 year-old mother and they are good in taking care of her. The caregiver helps her with feeding her, make sure her pills are taken on time, make her up, clean up her room and wash her up everyday. They also pretty much sweep up or mop up the kitchen and family room. We got one caregiver that comes 5 days a week and another one comes in 2 days a week and as long as they stay with that, everything's fine. For a while, I just get somebody in and then they steal them and give us somebody new. I didn't like that at all. They did that a few times. Now we seemed to have the same person all the time and it's much better. My mom has no memory so she doesn't remember who's here anyway but it's important that they know her schedule well. She can't tell me what's going on. All the caregivers they sent in were good. The care has always been good but I don't like changing caregivers and send us someone new. I think they can improve on the part where if they got somebody setup in a home don't take them out unless requested.
