Hospice of South Georgia provides _A Special Kind of Caring_ to any person of any age with a life-limiting illness. One who is seeking supportive care, rather than treatment focused on cure, may be eligible for hospice services. Providing quality end-of-life care to patients and their families is accomplished by a team of professionals, including registered nurses, doctors, social workers, a chaplain, certified nursing assistants, bereavement counselors, and trained volunteers. Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances, however; Hospice of South Georgia provides services regardless of ability to pay. Care is provided most often in the home, but is also offered in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Hospice of South Georgia also provides care in the Langdale Hospice House. Hospice of South Georgia serves the greater Lowndes County and Valdosta area, which includes the counties and cities of Atkinson and Willacoochee, Berrien and Nashville, Brooks and Quitman, Clinch and Homerville, Cook and Adel, Echols and Statenville, and Lanier and Lakeland.
