Disgusted and Disappointed

Very poor nursing team. No consistency in day and time frame after you 've established one.

My father was referred to have home health with this agency. Initial interaction over the phone was good, the PT/OT/Speech services were mediocre, skilled nursing no skill at all, and the supplies that are supposed to be ordered through the agency were not ordered or ordered wrong. My father was on vent and needed daily inner cannula change, but I had to reuse not one time but 3-4 times because the supplies didn't come. I had to call almost daily and daily they said, "you should receive them today". Do not choose this agency for home health, because the services are terrible!

We were assigned Interim for Gwinnett upon discharge from the hospital. I spoke with a pleasant person 3 times that Friday. It was a holiday weekend, and I understood it would be Tuesday before a visit was arranged. By Thursday I still hadn't heard from them, so I called them at the number provided on the discharge instructions. I was told to contact "Angela" in the Gwinnett office. I called and asked for Angela. The woman that answered did not state her name and was rude and harsh stating she had contacted us. I told her we we hadn't spoken to her and had no missed calls on our phone. She harshly stated that was our problem because she had left a message. Finally, I asked the woman verify the number she called and that is when we found they had a wrong number. She admitted she had been given my cell number, but never tried it. Instead of saying "I'm sorry you didn't get my message, let's verify the contact information", she continued to be rude. Then the nurse called us at 10:15pm to arrange a visit for Friday afternoon. I cancelled their services Friday morning because I lost confidence in their ability to communicate and coordinate services.

This agency was assigned to me by my medical provider. The care is not coordinated well because I received SO many phone calls! Some calls the person wanted to come to my home the same day within a few hours. The nurse fell asleep while talking to me. They don’t act as if they are working with disabled persons. They could stand to coordinate the healthcare plan better.

I used Interim Healthcare. My wife worked with a physical therapist. They did what they were supposed to do and had full contact with her for about three months. I’m the caregiver, so they just came in and worked with her from her wheelchair to the bed and the bed back to the wheelchair. The next day, they’d work with her standing up and using the walker. They’ll be back again if needed.
