I have been a client with home instead for about 3 years. I absolute recomend this agency. I have 2 great caregivers, Naty and Madelyn. Both of these ladies are great. They have helped me with my physical therapy exercizes among other things and i have regained my strength. They encourage me to do better and that hekps bust my confidence inmyself. They are 2 angels sent to me. I have recommended this agency to a friend also. I would give them more stars if it was possible.

My mother has been a Home Instead client for approx. 7 years and currently receives 24/7 care. A number of caregivers have been with her consistently for 3-4 years and proven to be genuinely caring, patient, communicative, and reliable. Duties have included anything from personal care such as bathing and dressing, to meal preparation, driving to medical appointments, and taking on outings such as church or grocery shopping. Office staff have also been kind and responsive when a problem has arisen.

So many problems! They are constantly understaffed. New aides weekly so there is no continuation of care where someone knows what you need because they are new. Aides frequently claim to work all their hours even when significantly late or have even no showed. They have sent aides with little to no English language skills into our home where we do not speak Spanish. Do not trust your loved ones with this company. After months of not being able to cover the hours I am prescribed and a hospitalization due to the fact I was alone I finally had enough. My requests have fallen on deaf ears. Before I could even cancel service I was informed that they are completely unable to cover Seminole County, even though I’m less than a mile from UCF and they have coverage to clients on the front of the campus?!?!

Lakisha visited my mother's home weekly to provide light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and assistance with shopping and getting her to medical appointments on time. Lakisha's assistance to my mother allowed my mother to continue to live in her home as she aged and removed a lot of stress from our working family members knowing she was in good hands. Home Instead has helped me manage a family member's needs for companionship and transportation for over a year. In every respect, the company has been excellent. My brother was well cared for and treated with respect. All our caretakers were exceptionally skilled and thoughtful. Donald in particular did a remarkable job. Always on time, always willing to go beyond what was asked, and proactive in meeting my brother's needs. Administrators have also been good to work with. Never any difficulties with scheduling, billing, etc. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Home Instead in the future.

When my FIL took a fall that landed him in the hospital we knew we had to make some changes and quickly. My MIL has Alzheimer's and none of the children in their state so we needed a plan to keep them both safe. Due to our travel schedule we were only able to meet with Home Instead on the week-end. Hugo was amazing and came out to their on a Saturday morning to meet with us and set up a fabulous schedule for when our parents returned home in several weeks. He even went and met with my FIL when he was put into his rehab facility and went and checked on my MIL in her respite memory care facility when we were back home. Unbelievable customer service!!! Debra helped us with any questions we had and was ready to be there for us in anyway. As it turns out they are moving into an assisted facility in their daughters state (it was determined they would both need 24 hour assistance). Home Instead was still so professional and caring and helpful even when I called to let them know we would unfortunately no longer need their services. They didn't feel like a "service" to us, they felt like a part of our "team". Thank you!!!!

We found the people involved with our original phone contact and in-home assessment to be very friendly, helpful, thorough and patient with our questions and their explanations and attention to detail. We found the services offered to be many and complete. We also love our in-home care-giver and the consistency of having the same one for each visit. Our helper is upbeat, friendly, willing to help in any way, etc. She provides companionship (plays games, shares stories) and helps with meals and dishes, however many more services are provided that we simply have no need for at this time, all for the same price. They are always on time. We have no complaints or issues with anything nor the ease of reaching the office to make changes to schedules and so forth. Very happy.

Home Instead mostly provided excellent care for my mother who had lung cancer and was recovering from the effects of chemo. She really liked most of the care givers that came and looked forward to seeing them. Thank said, they did not adequately staff and when the regular care giver couldn’t be there sometimes they were hours late or never showed up at all. On one occasion (toward the end when she needed lots of help getting around) they were supposed to be there at 8:00 am to help her get up and they didn’t come until 10:00. She laid in bed for two hours until the arrived. Several other times they just never came. Luckily my brothers or I were near by so we could come over and help. We were going to change to a different provider we were not satisfied with their care.

I was a client of Home Instead for nearly 2 years. We had continual issues with staffing (turnover of caregivers, uncovered shifts, last minute staffing, poor customer service, etc..) and the management of this company does not seem to have their arms around the issues clients are experiencing. We had to tell the agency not to send numerous caregivers that were inattentive and only interested in being on their phones. I feel badly for people who don't get a chance to monitor what goes on with their loved ones, You cannot assume that, just because an agency is licensed, they are providing adequate care. Attempts to rectify issues through staffing, case management (high turnover and rarely ever saw) and even the owner of the company were unsuccessful. The only reason they have 2 stars from me is that we had a couple of really good caregivers (after much effort on our part) that we were sad to part ways with when we changed agencies.

We were very pleased with them but we wanted a service that would take my mother and her friends to different locations. Their company policy didn't allow them to do that. Their policy was to drive only the clients. What I think is great about them is they try to match the senior to a caregiver with similar interests. I especially liked that aspect. Beside the issue with driving rule, we would have stayed with them.
