A visit every 2 weeks was their normal, no matter what condition my father was in at the time. Clueless. No help to speak of or emotional support. Not Hospice.

In the beginning Hope Hospice was an answer to prayers. They came regularly for 6 months to bath my husband 2x a week and a nurse came once a week to make sure his vitals were good. After about 3 months they switched from 2 bathers to just one. The nurses and cna did come out at night if I needed help and I was quite thankful. One nurse talked down to me and was replaced, others told me he was well and lungs were clear. Then at 6 month mark they decided to drop my husband from hospice -care not knowing all the tests he was getting from VA and not having all correct health info. They didn't care; he was just dropped. That was it. His last day of coverage was the 25th of August 2022. I refused to sign off on his care as I knew they were wrong to drop him just because 6 months was up!! He died the 26th the following day after he was dropped. They seemed very insincere and I was NOT included in the reason for termination. No reason has been given to me. He died of pneumonia, sepsis and high white blood cell count. I truly feel they were negligent to not have picked up on the pneumonia and sepsis. No one came to the house to check on him after I was notified on the 19th via phone call.

Let's start with this understanding - Hospice services are covered by Medicare and providers must comply with Medicare requirements. Medicare does NOT provide 24/7 unlimited nursing home care so do your research, learn what to expect, and uncover additional resources that are available to help your family. We chose to care for our loved one at home, meaning the family provides patient care while having access to daily Hospice visits and 24/7 support services via telephone. The Hope Hospice at-home team assigned to my parent (RN, PCS/CNA, Social Worker, Chaplain, etc.) are knowledgeable, hard-working, caring, and readily available to both the patient & family. Equipment is available for at-home care such as hospital bed, medication & bandages, personal care items, and various medical items. Supplies are ordered and delivered to your door. Volunteers are cheery and helpful, calling each week to ensure we have what we need. We appreciate our team! Challenges: (1) Figuring out what Medicare will/will not provide, (2) The person who manually prepares the home-visit schedule (why isn’t scheduling software used?) makes a lot of mistakes; you must be proactive to ensure a daily visit occurs, (3) Many Hospice services listed on the website are not actually available, (4) Respite Care (in-patient facility) staff seem competent but are less friendly and accommodating than the at-home care team. One CNA did not wear a mandated mask during COVID! My parent was never taken out of bed during a 5-day stay. And never got out of bed again. So we won't use Respite Care again even though we could use a break to replenish mind and spirit.

I can’t say enough good things about Hope Hospice. Everyone who interacted with my father, both in the Hospice House and at home, was incredibly kind, gentle, and respectful. The rooms at the Hospice House were large, bright, and without all the constant and annoying beeps, noises, and poking and prodding of a hospital. His nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s), and social worker went above and beyond not only to make him comfortable, but to make us, his family, prepared for what would likely happen next. Once dad came home, there was a daily visit by a CNA and nurses were available 24/7. I give my highest recommendation to Hope Hospice both for patients and families.

Gave them 1 star because I had to. I am going through living hell as my mother-in-law passed away 3 days ago and they still have NOT gotten a doctor's sign off to release the body and ship it back home to be buried. I have no idea where she is, the condition of her body. I was on the phone with them 3 times today and was assured it would be taken care, but at the end of business, no contact that it was complete. I plan on reporting to state and to the media about this horrific treatment of a grieving relative and family members who are trying to make travel arrangements. I DO WANT TO STRESS THE NURSES WERE WONDERFUL, this is an administrative screw up!

Hope Hospice and Community Services was wonderful and just what my mom needed. The staff was great and knew exactly what they needed to do. They knew to leave her alone when she didnt want to be bothered. They specialize in hospice, but it was only for a limited time. They didnt tell me when they moved my mom there that she can only stay for two weeks. They had a meeting with me and told me that I had to find another place because my mom had overstayed more than whats allowed by Medicare. They said that the hospice team will follow her. The food was good. I was there for Thanksgiving, and they provided a holiday dinner. There are two wings; one wing is closed down because theyre doing construction. The wing that was open was relatively small, but it was very nice and well-maintained. The value is great, but they wont let you stay even if you pay.

Our mother was in your card for the last few weeks of her life. We don't know what we would have done without you. Thank you all so much.

Overselling, Slow to respond to needs. Refusal of some services which were clearly palliative in nature. I'd not use them again.

We are currently having Hope Hospice for my mom, and they have been fabulous. The people are compassionate and very gentle. They are very sweet with my mother. They are also offering me information about things I could look into that I would not have known on my own to look for.

My mother-in-law used Hope Hospice for about three weeks before she passed away. For the most part, they did very well. The workers were very informative and kind, especially to her. They explained all that was happening to her and why she was in hospice. There was just a little complication because the hospice was hired when she moved into an assisted living facility. The staff were doing some of the care, and the staff from the assisted living facility were also doing some of it too. It didn't seem like there was enough communication between them, who should have done this and done that. Other than that, I was satisfied and would recommend to others.

It was in the last year of my dad's life that we used Hope Hospice. The nurse and social worker came over once or twice a week. My father liked to do water color painting and an art therapist came over. They even sent a guy with a therapy dog, a Golden Retriever. They had a doctor who we didn't see very often but she came whenever we needed her. I would give 5 points to everyone I met. They did a very good job. I would recommend them to other people.

My father was a hospice patient and his life was shortened by not giving him oxygen. I witnessed this first hand, tried to give him mouth to mouth, it was horrible. No family should have to go through this. I am scarred for life. Avoid using this provider!

My husband has Dementia for about ten years now. Last year I was recommended Hope Hospice Care Region 600 by the R.N. from Polk Co. Elderly Services in Bartow. This service is excellent. I have an aid she comes to my home three times a week to bathe and shave my husband. A nurse comes every week to assess his condition and to keep replenishing his supplies such as Chuxs. Depends, Barrier cream. everything my husband needs. A social worker and a pastor comes and if I need to get away for a rest, Hope Hospice will take care of my husband in a local nursing home for five days three times a year. I feel like I am in Heaven since I have all this help. Thank you Hope Hospice for your wonderful care. From Susan
