My husband and I visited my sister in law, Elisabeth B on 11/25/23. The nurse, Sue, welcomed us and seemed to understand us perfectly. She was gentle and answered our questions. She gave us some wise ideas for our family which we happily followed. All that in a beautiful, natural setting that helped us remain calm and serene and to focus only on Elisabeth, who died some hours later. Thank you Sue and the CT Hospice. George and Marina Koulomzin

Branford hospice was highly recommended by the hospital my mother was at prior. Unfortunately it was subpar. The facility looks nice from the outside but when you enter it is a different story. The check in process is so slow and the people at the reception desk are too old to be there. The place looks like a runner down, filthy place from the 80’s. It is not welcoming, comforting or inviting. Many of the nurses and CNA’s need to work elsewhere. They are short staffed and the CNA’s are clueless. One night my mom didn’t get her pain meds until an hour over the scheduled time. The support services are limited to non existent. The view and location overshadow the dilapidated facility. They don’t even provide water to visitors whose parents are dying. We never met a social worker or any support. The elevator is scary. It doesn’t work properly, I would take the stairs! The Purell dispensers are always empty and so is the soap in the rooms. Shop around! I would never go there again. Outside is worse! All the benches are broken. You can bring the patient outside but beware of goose poop everywhere. No one cleaned the walkways and we had to roll the bed through the poop and it was all over our shoes. There must be better places!!

My father is a resident of Connecticut Hospice. They are outstanding, and their staff is top notch. My father needs total care. They clean him, they reposition him, feed him, and give him medication, of course. It's a very caring and nurturing environment.

I am very disheartened with the way my Father was treated by Hospice as a whole and Home Care. The nurse assigned to him to come to the house was very rude and had no empathy towards him or us as caregivers. His wish was to go to Hospice and live out his remaining days but they kept telling him that he was not ready. You can see the tears in his eyes. He passed away at home with family. As of date no one from Hospice called to see how we are doing. My family and I are not happy the way everything was handled.

I am so very disappointed with CT.Home Hospice. I felt that my father did not get the care that he needed. The nurse that was assigned to him showed no compassion. Very poor attitude to my family. There was no empathy to us as caregivers. His wish was to die in Hospice but he died peacefully at home with his family around him.

My mother passed away recently and was in home hospice for almost 4 months. We found the nurses, home health aide, therapists, and social worker extremely motivated, dedicated, organized, and loving. Every facet of the operation was well coordinated, including the very responsive pharmacy and medical equipment provider. It was always easy to reach a nurse on call, and they provided quick and definitive guidance on what to do. We really appreciated the level of everyone's technical and soft skills, which made this stressful and sometimes confusing process much more manageable. We are forever grateful for CT Hospice!

My Mother spent her last days here. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, even during this COVID era we are in now. I feel my Mother was in good hands here.

We are forever grateful to CT Hospice & the staff here. They cared for my father, my family and me as though we were one of their own family members. There is a beautiful view in every room, my father would open eyes and with wonder say "Wow, what a stunning view". The food is honestly some of the best I've had, they offer meals to family their with loved ones for an extremely reasonable price to help you out. You are given a cot to sleep on when you stay the night in the room with your loved one. This is a magical, safe space, and from the bottom of my heart thank you CT Hospice for everything you did, you'll be in our hearts forever.

The Nursing staff all have attitudes. This is a beautiful facility, but someone should use a vacuum cleaner on those rugs and pick up the dried gook in the corners of the elevator. The nurses are quite the cranky ones. We heard much griping among the employees . The nurses should find employment elsewhere if working conditions are really that bad. Family members have enough on their mind without hearing all the moaning about how horrible and unfair the administration is. I am sorry but at least you have jobs and you are healthy.

The staff is very territorial. We were told that Hospice was not a private hotel and to back off. Nurses told us we were making ourselves too comfortable. They claim 24 7 visiting hours but they have not updated their website. We got the golden boot at 8 pm

My father, Age 87 was in a rehab facility. His health was in severe decline. It was decided that Connecticut Hospice was his best option. It was understood my Dad would receive great care. I have regrets about sending him to Hospice. My opinion based upon observation was that staff was in need of. Etiquette, empathy, and common decency training . This is my own option based upon my own observation. I was going to move my Dad back to the rehab \ nursing facility from that which he originated. I was displeased with Hospice and displeased with my Dad's care. My Dad passed away before I could place my Dad back in the other facility. I felt his level of care was much better in the other facility than Hospice. The day my Dad passed away I spoke to the Charge Nurse on the second floor and I found the communication difficult because she kept going back to another subject which was not relevant. I did not want to debate so I hung up. I drove to Hospice the next morning to retrieve my Dads belongings and the staff, in my opinion, seemed distant.

I think Connecticut Hospice was very good at what they do. It was a very nice facility with nice rooms and caring people. My dad received exceptional care.
