I am a current client of this provider

Gentiva saved my life! I was in bed for four days in pain and Grace came to meet with me and she was able to get me signed up for services very quickly and her office staff had someone there within the hour of signing up. Both the caregiver and Grace were very caring and attended to my needs and Grace went above and beyond by staying to make sure I was okay and even assisted me with getting me set up with transportation to the hospital. The caregiver they sent cleaned my kitchen, helped me to the bathroom to get me ready, and cleaned my bathroom. Gentiva gave me peace of mind and I am grateful for their help.

The VA provides me caregiving services through Gentiva and my caregiver Dorothy comes when she is scheduled. She helps me get ready for the day and prepares my meals. I can't do very much because I am in bed most of the time but she helps me with whatever I need. I know I can depend on her because she is always on time and ready to work. I am thankful for her.

I am a current client of Gentiva Personal Care and I am very happy with my current caregiver Harsh. He is very co-operative and knows what he's doing. He gives me a bath and guides me through my exercises. I'm impressed with his education going on in the background. Our daily conversations are engaging and he has a lot of good knowledge to share. Overall it feels good to have Harsh as my caregiver.

I'm using Gentiva Personal Care. Some of the caregivers leave a lot to be desired. They're not very attentive. Gentiva has a hard time finding qualified caregivers. I can't walk very good and I don't need a home health aide to come and sit on the chair and watch TV while I'm trying to walk. I've talked to them. As a matter of fact, they're sending me a new one come this Thursday, so I will see what happens. They provide personal assistants to help me walk and help me get dressed. They just kind of sit and watch in the shower. My wife gets in the shower with me to wash my back and my behind. They'll fry an egg for me, make toast or give me a cup of coffee. When I get up to walk, this last one that we had would just sit on the chair. He had a midnight job the night before, then he comes to my house at 8:00 in the morning, half asleep and sleeping on the chair. He gets paid for it and so I told Gentiva I wanted to change this guy. Communication with Gentiva is very good. I know there are two or three other ladies there, but I like to talk to Cindy because she gets the job done.

I'm using Gentiva Personal Care. I find the two people with whom I communicate the most very pleasant and helpful. I have been pleased with the caregivers that they have sent me, except for one whom I thought was quite horrible. I have appreciated the fact that when something has arisen unexpectedly, they have met the occasion by basically solving my problem. Like, there was an occasion when I was told by my doctor's office to come in and it was urgent, and the only kind of ride that I could get at that point was a cab, and I knew that it was going to cost me at least $30 to take a cab to the doctor's office. So I called Sally and I said, 'Can you help me out? Might there be somebody free in the morning?' And sure enough there was. He took me to the doctor and then stayed with me until after lunch and everything went smoothly. The only complaint I have to make is that the bills that I get from Gentiva are sometimes completely inexplicable. I got one the other day that shows that I owe them a tremendous amount of money except then I don't. The bills that I received the other day are totally incomprehensible. I think somebody else's records must have gotten mixed up with mine because it shows some tremendous amount of money and then winds up saying, I owe them $406. Well, this is completely wrong, and I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Other than that, I'm very happy with Gentiva.

I'm really happy with Gentiva Personal Care. I feel very confident leaving the house knowing my husband is in good hands. The gentleman that we have seems to have a good bond, and my husband is comfortable with him. He's just very personable and very nice. I don't have to worry about my husband. I can go outside, do yard work, do whatever, and I know he's in good hands in here. It gives me a little bit of a break. I can go grocery shopping, and I come home and the caregiver is attending to him. He'll shower my husband and fix him food. My husband doesn't talk a lot. He's very quiet, but Chris seems to bring it out in him. They carry on conversations here and there, so it seems to be a really good fit. It's the first time I've had anything like this, so this is different for me, too. I'm really comfortable with Gentiva. I look forward to him coming. They're very good about letting me know if the caregiver is going to be late. If there's traffic, he'll call in. There's good communication between us, so I know what's going on or what's going to happen. I'm just really happy with them. They have all been very nice and very informative. I couldn't ask for anything better.

I'm using Gentiva Personal Care. I think that Gentiva is very lucky to have Brenda as a caregiver. They are fortunate to have her as one of their employees in caregiving. She has been excellent. She does things that are a little bit different than most people. She brings in flowers. She waters the plants. She is a very caring individual. She's here between four or five days during the week. They provide all kinds of services. I don't like their billing process. It's very confusing. They send me copies of the bills. I have insurance that pays for them, but it's very difficult to understand the charges. They have an excellent employee in Brenda. I would recommend her for anyone that needs her help. She is absolutely terrific. I love her. I'm grateful that Gentiva gave me her.

Gentiva Personal Care was wonderful. My mom was really hesitant and at first we were doing a couple of days a week and then we extended it out, and she loved all of them. They took really good care of her. The number of hours was fine. At the beginning, they were coming out three times a week for four hours a day, and then we extended it to five days a week for four hours a day, and they were great. They're really good. Mom really liked them. They were always on time, especially Marisol, who came out to take care of my mom. I was there the first day she got there, and she was early, which I liked. After that, she was always on time. It was great. My mom loved her to death. They provided services like cooking, cleaning and being a companion. Communication with the agency was perfect. They answer every time I call, and they answer my questions. They were great. I was hesitant at first, but they were really good. They took good care of Mom until we ended up moving her to a facility. They took care of all her needs.

I have Gentiva Personal Care for my mom. We started in 2022. I really like the personnel. I have good experience with the administrators, and our current caretaker is great. She is very helpful and proactive, and she communicates well. The services they help my mom with are personal care, dressing, bathing, preparing food, and small cleanup. She also cooks for my mom. She's always on time. If there's any chance that she might even be 10 minutes late, she calls ahead of time and lets me know. She rarely misses any days. She works five days a week, and she is on call a lot for us. She's very, very reliable. I used to have some issues with their billing department, but I think that's straightened out now. We had used a couple of caregivers with them, and one of them was not reliable, but they replaced her immediately, so that was good. If necessary, they have alternative caregivers that are really good as well, so we've been very pleased.

We thought Gentiva Personal Care were very professional. They listened very carefully. The care that we were trying to get is for my mother, who is a retired nurse, and is very particular being a retired nurse. We went through several different care providers until we found somebody who passed the 'Mom test,' and I stressed that to Gentiva. They said that they would do everything possible to find the appropriate match for my mother. The very first person that they sent, my mom loved her. That was so important because if my mother didn't like the care provider or if she didn't pass Mom's approval, Mom would give up and then we would not get her care or she wouldn't get care. I stressed to Gentiva that it's important that they find a really, really good match, and they did on the first person that they sent over. We all love the care provider who comes. When Mom loves her, everybody loves her. The branch manager called to check up to make sure things were going well. So I thought not only are they professional, they follow up and they follow through. I've called their resourcing staff several times because this is the first time that I've had to deal with trying to find somebody for my mother. I had lots of questions, and Sally and Cindy were so helpful, so patient, very informative and willing to help out wherever they could, especially with the paperwork because Mom has long-term care insurance, and the process is very cumbersome and very convoluted. Sally and Cindy were very accommodating to the insurance company process. We were really happy with Gentiva. We also liked how they were more personable, too, but professional. The caregiver provides personal assistance. The main thing is, Mom doesn't drive or cook anymore. She needs somebody to bring her food or groceries. Also she had two very scary falls, one outside and one inside, so we want somebody to be in the house to make sure that she doesn't slip and fall. My mom also needs help getting from one room to another. Another thing is that whenever I went over, I made a list of all the things that I needed to do around the house to help Mom. I saw the entire list of about 30 things. Every time that the caregiver comes over, she goes through the list and checks to make sure that those things either need to be done or if they don't need to be done.

We had Gentiva Personal Care help us for three to four weeks and then my father passed. We used them four days a week. The aide helped with light housekeeping, laundry, and his personal care. Her name is Mele and she was very caring. She had a lot of patience. She was friendly. Everything you would want in a caretaker, Mele was that person. The one that I worked with at Gentiva was Sally and I love her. She's great. She's the one that came out to set me up with the caretaker from Gentiva. She interviewed me and she sent me the wonderful Mele. Sally was always accessible. Every time I called Gentiva, I was able to get through to her.

Gentiva provides good resources to meet my stated requirements, but I am a hands on daughter, so I like to vet and train them on my mother's specific needs, as she is a paraplegic. I recommend a trust with verification approach to care. Gentive provides good caregivers, I provide specific training, then I trust that they are following the plan. But I do check in from time to time with resources to validate nothing changes from the expected services to be delivered. It is a team effort!!!

I have been using Gentiva Personal Care for my husband. I think it's been very pleasant. Dealing with them in general is fine. I have had two people from Gentiva. The service they provide is taking care of my husband and also some light housekeeping. I tried to encourage the young man to play cards with my husband, to do some crossword puzzles or things like that, and he tried. He also took my husband out for a walk. He is a very nice, very pleasant young guy. He is a college student. I didn't expect anybody that young, but he was fine. He came on time and he did some vacuuming and a little mopping. It was very pleasant, and he would have done anything that I would have asked him to do. I'm very grateful that such a nice thing is provided for a veteran. The idea of giving some respite to the caregiver is just very nice, so I very much appreciate it.

I am a current client of this provider

I have been using them for a couple of months now. They sent me to a wonderful caregiver. Her name is Deborah. We just hit it off right away. She's funny and personable. She's a self-starter. There were things that I needed done because I'm disabled. I'm having a real hard time getting my laundry done, walking up the five steps to my mailbox outside and taking out the trash and doing anything like that, so she obviously did all those things for me. I told her that since my surgery almost four-and-a-half years ago, I hadn't been able to vacuum, so the first thing she did was vacuum the whole house and did dusting, too. She would look around and go, 'I'm going to do that now,' besides the things that I asked her to do. She volunteered and she just went room by room. It's wonderful. She's great. However, her schedule is not allowing her to take me to my doctor's appointments, so another caregiver came in last week. She's Sophia. She's brand new, and she just started like six months ago there. She is a very sweet young woman. She's 24 years old. She's very capable and got me to my doctor's appointment and back. She's very nice, too. I've had nothing but really good experiences with both the caregivers that I've met. I called them up the other day just to tell them how much I'm enjoying the luxury of having someone come in and help me. I'm on a grant program through my medical clinic right now. I imagine that when the grant program dries up soon, I will be out of luck, but I'm thoroughly appreciating it while I have it, I just hope that it'll last a long time. So far, so good. When I speak with the people there, when I need information, they're always very helpful, cheerful and competent, and they get right back to me. It's a pleasure in this day and age because that doesn't always work when you call.

Her attention to the care of my husband has been focused & thoughtful. She pays attention to his needs and I trust her. She is anticipates needs and is very competent. I've been using them for a year now. It's my caregiver that they send that I like. She helps with dressing, transferring from wheelchair to bed, sponge bath in bed, and exercises. If my wife asks her to do something around the house, she does it. She comes three days a week at the same time.

They were here with us for a week for 24-hour care. The people were excellent. They came in and they took care for us as best as they could. They helped with my wife's undressing and dressing. They were very polite and good. There couldn't have been better caregivers. Scheduling and billing were good.

My caregiver is excellent I live in an independent living facility, and Yolanda takes care of all of my needs. Yolanda arrives on time every time. She washes my clothes twice weekly. She never complains, she brings my meals from the dining room. She works well with the other workers at the facility. Lastly, I enjoy having intellectual conversations with Yolanda.

We're using them. They are very good to my husband and even the caregiver (he's 26 years old), and he's very nice. His name is Harsh, and he even took my husband in the wheelchair for a nice little walk down the street. He's doing the exercise for him, he gives him a shower, and then he walks him in his walker. Sally always keeps in touch and tells us when the caregivers come in. She's very nice. It's wonderful. They're very nice, they help my husband, and they are very good.

We're using them for my dad. We've had a positive experience with both caregivers. My dad seems to really enjoy being around her. She's been very helpful with cooking and cleaning, just helping him do daily activities, and driving him to appointments and things like that. Her attitude has been great, she's positive, and has a good rapport with my dad. The only negative thing I would say is that it's been hard to get my dad reimbursed through the insurance company because they're not submitting the paperwork on time. So we love working with Kindred, but we would appreciate if they were quicker about working with our long-term care insurance.

We're using them. They do light housekeeping. I am pleased with the girl that they sent. I had called and spoke with Cindy who works in their office and she's the one that's been helping us get our girls. I had just said to her, "Thank you so much because our girls are so good." I have one lady that I've had for maybe two or three years now and she has been taking care of me because I'm in a chair. I've had a stroke and I broke my arm and all these different things that caused me to not be able to help myself. Then my husband got really sick and so we were gonna need a little more help, like with cleaning and cooking and things like that, that was hard for me and him to do. Now we are on their couples' program. We have the same lady that I've had for a couple of years and then we have some younger girls there. They're learning all this as well as earning their living doing this and they have just been great. They're very interested and very attentive. It's just that they're young, maybe in their 20s or younger, but they're caring and attentive. We enjoy them. I've had different ladies come out, but the ones we have now are good and the young ones are learning very well. They're reasonable. I've not had any trouble with them. I am so grateful that they're there.

Kindred currently takes care of my Mother, aged 97 and my Father aged 98. My Mother has Alzheimer's and my Father is on hospice and bedridden. Their caregivers are fantastic! They care for my parents as if they are family. There is someone available 24 hours a day for any emergencies. I highly recommend Kindred.

It was a good hospice provider before my mother died last year. They were attentive and professional. What I was not expecting was the bereavement services given to me. I was made aware they had someone I could talk to if I needed it. As well, I periodically received mail with pamphlets about grief and how to deal with it. It wasn’t so much the content as the fact of the mail itself that made me feel cared for in ways I never even knew I needed. I am so grateful.

I'm really pleased so far with them. They help me with my food, they help me in the bed, they help me with my dog, they turn my lights on and off, and they open up blinds so I can see. The caregivers are very good. In fact, the last lady who came over here made some Kung Pao Chicken, I finished it last night and it was very good. They are prompt and on time.

We have been using them. They're very good. They're excellent. Taylor is my caregiver and we just walked up our hill here and back down, which we like doing at least three times a week with her to start out with. When we come back, she will help me with my shower, then massage my legs and help me with a little afternoon food. Before she leaves, some days she also helps start dinner for me and my wife, which she is not supposed to do, I guess. She will massage my legs after my shower and make sure of my scheduling with my appointments as we go over the calendar. She provides personal care. I'm very comfortable with her. She has been coming here since October. The ones that I've had from them, they have been the best.

I have been using them since the beginning of November. Basically I'm using a wheelchair and a walker and the problem is that you run out of hands to carry things, even small things, from one place to another, so they're helping me with that, and they help with light housekeeping, showering and running a couple of errands, too. The one who is assisting me right now is very good, but it took a little while to find the right caregiver for me. They are very helpful, and they will really try hard to find the help that you need. We're actually going through that right now. My aide is in the afternoon and I got an upcoming medical appointment, which is in the morning, and so they are trolling through their other aides to find someone who can just fill in for that one morning. It is difficult because it needs to be someone who can drive me and have a car that I can get into. One other thing is that I have two very bad knees and I can't get into the backseat of a car. I can get into the front seat of something at least the side of a sedan though I don't think I can climb into an SUV, so it is limiting, but they're looking for someone who can do that. I think it is a challenge for them but I know they're working hard on it. They work hard to find the right aide for you. However, the women who are doing the search for me and stuff are not available on the weekend. It's basically just someone to take messages on the weekend, which is a little bit annoying. They need to improve on their accessibility on the weekends.

I am a current client of this provider

We have been using them for close to two years now. I have a caregiver who comes in twice a week to take care of my husband because he can't be alone at all. The caregiver showers him, he helps him get dressed, he gives him his breakfast and lunch many times, he assists him with the bathroom, and he does a lot of trash and laundry that needs to be done while he's here. My husband is absolutely comfortable with him. I'm absolutely satisfied. We only have one caregiver but as far as I'm concerned they're all wonderful. He comes in, he takes care of my husband, and I don't have to worry. I can leave and not have to be concerned about his welfare.

I have been using them for 3 years now. They provide personal care. The caregiver I have is excellent. I would wish all of the caregivers we get are like her because she is good. All the people I got from them are trained and very good. It is excellent service that they're giving me. People in the office are very helpful, too.

I have been using them for four or five years now. I have a mobility problem and I need an assisted transport because I have to go to dialysis. There is one gentleman who comes and helps me down my front stairs, he drives me to dialysis and back home again, and he takes care of my walker. He is very good, very reliable and always on time, which is very important to me.

It was a huge help. We had been taking care of Ben, a friend in church, for several years now, and Kindred at Home comes in three times a week. I had a total of 11 hours approved by the Veterans. The guy who came here did some cleaning in Ben's bedroom, did his laundry, and he gave him a shower. The caregiver fed him breakfast and lunch or just lunch depending on the day. If Ben didn't need a shower, he just helped him change his clothes. He was really good with Ben. He did a great job at all those things. He was really sweet, and Ben really liked him. We were very satisfied with him. However, one time the caregivers were double booked and so they didn't show up. Nevertheless, it worked out great. They were flexible.

The experience with them has been pretty good. Most of the caregivers are good. One we asked to leave pretty quickly after she arrived and one I asked them to never send back, but other than that, I haven't been unhappy. Initially I was having caregivers three different shifts: 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 6 am. Then we decided we could probably get by without the 2 pm to 10 pm shift. Then a couple of weeks ago, we decided we can get by without the 6 am to 2 pm shift. They're very helpful but you almost feel like you have a guest in your house. It is difficult to go out with a friend because you have to take them with you. It is just better not to have anybody except from 10 pm to 6 am. That's when I really need the help the most. I'm fine with them.

My mom has done very well with them. They have been very nice to her. They have gotten very attached to her, and they are very kind to her. My mom has been very happy with them. They keep her safe through the night and they make sure she is alright. When she is moving around, they make sure that she doesn't fall. My mom doesn't like it when there are substitutes of course, but she has her regular ones that she is really happy with. The service is just fine. They're doing well.

It has been 3 and a half years now that we have been using them. It was both for my parents for the first three years, but my father passed away and now it is just for my mom. It is very good. We have had a couple of different caregivers but the one we have the longest, we have had her for three years now, and she is great. She happens to be a trained RN in the Philippines and of course she is living here now and she is just very good at what she does. It has been a very good experience. She is very reliable, she always comes, and she is very knowledgeable.

I'm a veteran and they have been coming out for a year now. They are helping me out with bathing, with my feet, and mainly with my legs because I have really bad legs. They also help around the house and they help my wife because she is not in the best shape either. They come in for two hours a day, a total of 10 hours a week of service. Bernadette comes in for two days for three hours because she won't work a 2-hour shift. I wish she could but she can't. I could probably use one more day but it is best they can do right now. They do a very good job. I'm very comfortable with them. They're the most caring people I ever dealt with. They have a good attitude and they make you feel like they want to take care of you and that's the thing that is the most important. You don't feel like you're a nuisance. I wouldn't trade these people off for anything. They're great. I would give them very high recommendations. When you're miserable with bad legs and a lot of medical problems, it is nice to have people that really do care. They're good about calling, too. Like Tim was sick for a week, he was down with the flu, and they took care of it. They let me know in advance and we work out a way to make up for it. They're very good working with their patients. Even when I was having a rough time with the VA at first getting me approved, they covered a little bit at their own expense to help me out because they didn't want to leave me alone. I was going through some real problems with the infections, and VA sometimes could be very slow processing stuff, but they stuck it out and they finally got it approved. They're very good with their patients in every avenue. I have only been with just two people that worked with them, I don't know how all their other employees but I know that these two are way above average.

I have been using them since Thanksgiving of last year and it has been excellent. They provide me help with companionship, household duties, errands, and things that are needed around in any house. I couldn't be more comfortable with my caregiver. She is excellent. They always show up and everything works smoothly. You couldn't ask for a better person.

I had used them for my mother. She was in a facility and she needed some one-on-one care. They called them for me, so I chatted with them and hired them in August. They're absolutely great. I was actually on vacation when I started calling them, so when I came back into town, the first day they met me at the facility, we signed the contract, and I gave them all the pertinent information. Then, they were able to get somebody that afternoon; I was very impressed. Any changes that I had, they were able to accommodate it very quickly. We initially started with 10-hour days and then we cut it back to 4 and then we had it bumped up to 6. It seemed like every month, things were changing but they were able to actually accommodate the changes very quickly, so I was very pleased. They got very good care assistants and I was extremely pleased. They worked out perfectly. I was very very happy. My mom was in memory care. She had dementia and Alzheimer's. The caregivers were able to react with her, get her up walking, and socialize with her. They massaged her feet, they sang to her, and they they tried to bring her out and engaged her in conversation and activities. I was very pleased and very happy. There are the people we will call when it is time for us to have home care assistance. I always had somebody looking after my mom. There may have been one instance where somebody could not make it for whatever reason but they sent somebody else out. I would highly recommend them. As I said when we get to be that age and we need some assistance with home living, we're going to call them. I'm very pleased with them

We have been using them for a whole year off and on. We started with them in January 2019. This is not the first service we had used, but this is the best that we have had. My husband is the consumer and I'm the caregiver. Most of it is focused on my husband's safety. In the beginning of last year, he had a major surgery and so they were bathing him, they were making his meals, they were helping him get dressed, and they were supervising his exercises. They never had to do medication management; I had done that. I have been very satisfied. My schedule can change not only from day to day but week to week and month to month. Sometimes it is a little bit hard for them to be able to meet my scheduling needs. Now we use them intermittently and that's hard on them. It is hard for them to find a caregiver just to come one day; however, they pretty much have always been able to meet our needs.

Alex is doing an excellent job with my Dad. He goes above and beyond what is required to fulfill his role as an in-home caregiver. He is prompt and has never missed a day's work since he has begun caring for my Dad. Moreover, he is also a veteran just like my Dad, so it gives my Dad a sense of ease and camaraderie. Alex is polite, courteous and professional, which adds immensely to his work ethic and diligence as an in-home care provider.
