I don't usually write reviews, but when an individual in an organization goes way beyond what is normally expected, I felt compelled to do so. I highly recommend Always Best Care in Palm Desert for home caregivers. Especially Leslie B., their Care Coordinator. I can't say enough good things about her. She went WAY beyond the usual duties of her job to ensure my elderly Aunt with post-stroke dementia was well taken care of regardless of whether she was in the hospital, at home or in a memory care facility. She was in constant contact with family members and showed great compassion while also attending to a myriad of details, many of which were not even her job. She even visited my Aunt in the hospital and helped get her home safely. Always Best Care is indeed lucky to have Leslie and so are we.

I had a caregiver for a week that was great, but she no longer works for the agency. The current caregiver is not as good. I think that when someone makes a bed, there should be some parameters to making the bed. Just making it isn't adequate. I'd like the agency to send me someone that is actually trained. I'd like the caregiver to be helpful to those in the home and be interested in talking to and interacting with my loved one. If there's something I should know, I'd like the caregiver to tell me about it.

The caregivers from Always Best Care of Desert Cities come every day to make sure my relative has lunch and dinner. They help her get in the shower. She has memory issues so they remind her to take a shower and to take her pill, and they're there for company. On Monday through Friday we have the same person, and then on Saturday and Sunday it's another person. We've been working with this agency for a couple of months now, for about 40 to 50 hours a week. Our normal hours with them are 11:00 to 3:00, unless we have company at that time. I think the scheduling and value for the money is excellent, and the pricing is comparable to what we're paying in Chicago. The caregivers are wonderful; Maria is great and so is Sonia.

There's a woman from Always Best Care of Desert Cities who watches Mom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. She is becomining one of my mother's best friends because she can sit and talk with her and they cook together. My dad had an episode one of the days she was there. He started to feel dizzy and he asked if she would take him to the emergency room. She called back to Always Best and found out the protocol and then she stayed in the hospital in the emergency room with my mother and guided my mother through everything. Elsie was able to call the family and check on things, and the whole family felt so much better. The services that Bonnie's group has provided has been fantastic. Bonnie was also the first one to contact me after I put in my information and she has a smile all the time. Elsie acknowledged all their fears, like about not wanting to have people in their home. She's fantastic. She listens, acknowledges, and validates people's feelings, and talks with them about possible solutions. They love her, and she knew my dad's birthday, and even brought balloons for his birthday. It's been lovely.
