My caregiver sweeps and mops, does my laundry and dishes, cleans my bathroom and does whatever else i need. She shows up on time and get things done in a timely manner.

We're using Gentiva Personal Care - Glendale for Dad. We have a VA advocate, Michelle, who has been amazing. She's been amazing with finding help for my dad and following up with his care. The caregivers are wonderful. They've been very helpful and gone above and beyond. They provide wonderful care and he's very happy. Scheduling has been great. They follow up. They tell us exactly what they're doing and guided us when we needed to find extra help. I would highly recommend them. They've been wonderful to deal with. They've been so good, we haven't looked elsewhere.

My 91 year old mother has Alzheimer’s and now needs around the clock caregivers. We had the good fortune of being referred to Gentiva and it has allowed our mom to stay in her home. She is very active and fit and has always been fiercely independent but it was no longer safe for her to live alone. Destinee manages the team and she is fantastic. The communication is superb and she is always available. When things go off track with mom they are able to quickly redirect her. They will do as much or as little as my mom allows but most importantly she is safe. I HIGHLY recommend Gentiva. If we could give 10 stars we would.

I've been using Gentiva Personal Care for three weeks now, and I think today's the last day that I will be needing the services. I'm getting better now and I'm more independent. They're very competent and everything that I needed to have done was done and the companionship that I was seeking during the time, just somebody to be with me while I did things so that in case I faltered, that I would have a backup. I knew that I'd be weak after coming home from the hospital, and I just didn't want to be alone because I'm a widow. That was what filled my needs. I had four days the first week, then three days the second week, and then two days this week. It was perfect for my needs. I'm capable of doing so many things on my own now, and I'm not as fearful of doing things by myself because I had kind of practiced doing it with someone. I'm still with the walker. They've given me everything I want and they've followed up and any time I made a request, they have serviced my needs. I have no complaints at all. I have no negatives. Everything that I needed was addressed. Besides the household things like changing my linens and cleaning the cat litter and few of the things that I wasn't able to do at first, it was just nice to have the companionship for a few hours a day, that I wasn't totally alone. That was as important to me as the services that she provided. It was good.

Our experience with Gentiva Personal Care has been very pleasant and positive. I have been using them for five weeks now. Our girl, Linda, is terrific. She's good at all of it. If I need a shower, she helps me in the shower. If I need something to eat, she helps me with something to eat. She's very bubbly and open. I appreciate her very much. I'm surprised at her age that she's as strong as she is, too, because she has to help me in and out of the shower and stuff like that. She comes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. I'm very happy with her. She has been great. All you have to do is talk to Gentiva Personal Care, and they will help you figure out what you need. I'm very, very happy with them.

I've been using Gentiva Personal Care for four years now. They are always here, and they take me wherever I need to go. There's just somebody to talk to and stuff like that. It's kind of rough being alone. They also do my laundry. Basically, they drive me to my appointments, which is the biggest thing I need as I need transportation. Unfortunately, I'm not the healthiest medically, so I need to go see doctors all the time or different appointments and stuff like that. Some caregivers are decent. The other ones are kind of just in it for the money and for the most part, those people don't last very long. I have different caregivers all the time now. The industry around here is kind of like they only work when they have to, and as soon as they find a better job, they leave. However, the management has been really good about when something like that happens. They find somebody really quick to replace them, so that's a good thing. The management is really on top of everything. They take care of me.

Kindred at Home Personal Home Care Assistance has been amazing for my Grandma. She moved in with me about 2 months ago after she broke her hip. Lisa reached out to me and when I told her what I needed and the situation she was there to visit use within two days. She remembered our story and needs and already had the perfect caregiver in mind. The caregiver comes while I work so my grandma has company and someone to talk too. She's even willing to out with her next week. Lisa really did take the time to match my grandma with the perfect caregiver and friend. I don't know what I would do without them!

I cannot express enough how wonderful they are. My mom fell and broke her hip 3 years ago and they were with her until she passed in June. They were punctual, providing great care and going above and beyond! Lisa, the Branch Manager is amazing! She made home visits and truly cares! She is genuine and really the driving force and backbone of it all! She is a true asset! Even after my mom passed, she checks in on me to make sure I am alright! She lets me know that “I’ve got this!” I don’t know what I would have done without them. 5 stars for sure!!

My caregiver, Gabby, from Kindred at Home is absolutely perfect. She has exceeded my expectations in every way. She has been the single most best person that I have had helping me. She's extremely professional and extremely well trained in her procedures (since I am in a wheelchair), with bathing, showering, shampooing, skincare, everything. She goes the extra mile and does a fabulous job of cleaning out everything in the house. I'm quite pleased with her and I wish I could have her with me 24/7. I had one evening with another person that was not of a size that could help me very well, but Gabby has been great. Since she won't be working in the next two days, I'm hoping I will have equal quality care with the next providers from their caregivers. Gabby will come back Friday and start with her new schedule of 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We were able to get the care started two days after I was released from the hospital. Everything has been smooth (thanks to Kindred at Home), when it comes to procedures and arrangements in getting someone quickly. We have a service dog, so the person needs to love dogs. My dog has taken to Gabby and they play and have a good time and she gets to go out regularly to go to the bathroom. Since we were in a condo, you have to go across the parking lot and up the hill for the area for the pets, so it's not an easy job, and she could not be better at it.

I had used Kindred at Home. We know the company and we had a good experience before and that was the reason we called again, but I don't have any specific things. The caregiver was okay. She took care of me. She was really nice and good. I don't have any complaint at all. She cleaned my bowl of cereal and the glass that I used for breakfast. In these two weeks, only once a week I asked her to come in for my laundry. She didn't clean anything on the house. The people at the office were OK. The lady that helped me was really punctual every single day and she was really nice with me. She was a really delicate lady to take care of others.

As a current client Kindred at Home- Glendale, my caregivers Christopher & Fredy are two great people. They assist me with my Activities of Daily Living, they're on time & good at what they do. The company as a whole is a great idea. I would definitely recommend Kindred at Home to other potential clients.

We are fortunate and blessed that Victoria took such good care of our dad during his battle with cancer and dementia. She is amazing! She went out of her way to find things he would like to eat when he lost his appetite. She took him to visit his mom and encouraged him to stay in contact with his friends and got people to come visit him. His Hospice team was appreciative of all her hard work and they knew how difficult he could be some days because of his dementia. She went to visit him right before he passed in the hospice house. Our family is thankful she was there for us and him. I know God sent us the right person! Mo arranged her for us and she was spot on! Thank you to everyone who helped us during this difficult time.

Kindred at home provided somebody to come and stay with my mom while I went out. They referred somebody and evaluated my mom. I requested somebody that is Spanish speaking, but they never were able to get me that or somebody that speaks fluent Spanish. The billing department is very slow; I never heard of anybody not taking money, and their billing is kind of different. The care that my mother receives was just good care, and the people that came were really nice and helpful. The people that I talked to on the phone has been very cordial, professional, and helpful.

My mother is not really ready for an assisted living place. I did try some in-home care for her, but the company that I tried was awful, so I wound up discontinuing it. The one that I wound up going with was called Kindred at Home, and I wasn't very impressed. The first caregiver that they sent to my mother seemed to be pretty good. He was really just nice, and I liked him, but then they sent other people, and that is one thing about older people. To me, you can't be switching them up all the time. If you are going to be sending a different care provider every couple of weeks, then it is upsetting to those older people because they don't get a chance to get to know that person and have some kind of a bond with them. And the other thing I was disappointed about with this place was they sent one person that actually did nothing to stimulate my mother. In fact, she wound up taking a nap when she was supposed to be caring for my mom, and I thought that was totally outrageous. And, at that time, I just thought this is not working, so I just discontinued the service. I am not going to pay for somebody to go to my mom's house and have my mom prepare them meals, which I thought they were supposed to do. And then to be taking a nap when they are supposed to be stimulating my mom in some kind of conversation or something like that, I was very disappointed, and I haven't researched any of the other in-home care places, which I know there are several in the valley here, but I have that bad taste in my mouth with this one. I felt like I paid good money for it, and I got nothing for in return. It started off really well with the first caregiver that I sent because he developed a rapport with my mom, he was a very friendly person, and I know that while he was there, he engaged her in conversation and tried to do some things with her; that's what I was looking for. But as time went on and they keep switching them up, my last rating would have been a one. I would have given it a one at the end because I was not satisfied at all with what the last caregiver they sent was doing. For one thing, they need to do what they stipulate in their agreement that I signed. They told me that they would be doing some things in the home that would keep me aware of what caregiver was there and the services that they provided, they'd give me some kind of an update on the care, and this was supposed to be done by providing some kind of a book that they keep a log in, but that never materialized. They never did provide the book, so I was disappointed with that, and like I said, the one caregiver, I didn't think was much of a caregiver at all.
Provider Response
My sincerest apologies that my replacement caregiver did not perform to your expectations. Although I strive to consistently send the same caregiver, especially when a client has such a clear preference, if that caregiver is no longer available the only option I have is to send another caregiver. The concerns you expressed have been addressed with the second caregiver and I would like to thank you for bringing them to my attention. I value your feedback as it helps me to maintain a quality staff.

The caregiver from Kindred at Home was fantastic. She was great. I would recommend this agency. They were very accommodating for what I needed. They used nursing students, and I needed more of a companion just in case. It was ideal for me. I didn't need a lot of care, but she did things like help me dress, and they were available for when I needed them. I was using them eight hours a day. There was someone available the whole time I used them for four days. There was somebody there all four days, the same person. They were willing to come early. They reminded me to take my medicine, helped me dress, and they accompanied me everywhere. The only problem I had a little bit with was the billing. I prepaid, and then I got a bill that said I owed them money, but they scored it away because the person I paid was the supervisor and not the billing company.
Provider Response
Thank you for your kind remarks, I am so pleased that you were happy with the service you received. It was a pleasure working with you and should the need ever arise again please don't hesitate to call! Hope you are doing well! I apologize for the confusion with the billing but am glad our billing department was able to resolve the issue quickly.
