My mom is doing pretty well at home with the caregivers. We're using Home Instead - Montgomery, AL right now. They remind my mom to take her medicine every day. They fix meals. They can use our vehicle to take them to appointments, or we can pay mileage if they use their vehicle like if we didn't have a vehicle. The caregiver that we have right now is very compassionate, very caring, and very reliable, and she does a really good job.

Home Instead took care of my mother in the last 2 months of her life. They provided personnel to sit with her at home & help her to the restroom. They did an outstanding job of providing interaction with mom. They read to her & played some of her favorite gospel songs. There were times when we couldn't be there & I always felt good knowing that they were there to help mom with something to eat or drink as well as bathroom needs. We also had hospice nurses that came once or twice a week to check moms vitals & let us know how she was doing. When the time came that mom needed pain medication they supplied that as well & gave good instructions on its' use. After mom's passing, we received a sweet card with each caregivers personal note. It really meant a lot to know they didn't just view her as a client, but as a friend they had gotten to know & help keep comfortable thru the process. I would highly recommend them in your time of need.

The absolute worst experience you can imagine. Things were not done as we were told when we signed up. One time, a care giver did not even show up as scheduled, nor did anyone let me know this by calling me. I asked for someone with particular skills and was not given that either, although was promised that is what I would get. I asked to have manager call me on several occasions when problems came up, several weeks later I still have not received that phone call, I did however receive the bills. I finally called and spoke to the owner who was extremely defensive and would not even listen to what happened from my perspective. Extremely disappointing and extremely unprofessional experience at a time we needed someone most. I highly recommend NOT using this company!

We used this service for parent who moved in with my husband and I so he would not have to be in a nursing home. We had caregivers 3 days a week and 2 Saturdays a month for about 3 years, plus extra shifts when needed. Since we work full time, we would not have been able to care for him without help. In the last months before parent passed, increased service to 5 days a week, then added 10 pm to 6 am shift 7 days a week. Staff was professional and compassionate. Caregivers were reliable, skilled, friendly, and developed excellent relationship with parent.

We've been with Home Instead for a few weeks and they are good at what they do. When I was looking around for agencies, the qualifications of Home Instead were posted on their website and it got my attention. Also the fact that they called me back within 24 hours and sent me information via email were primary reasons why I hired them for my parents. I like their website by the way. It was very informative and helpful during my search. The services we got were primarily for companionship and driving. There's also a little bit of housekeeping but very minimal. They send in just same person which is good. The lady comes 2 half days a week, 4 hours each day so a total of 8 hours a week. At this stage in her life, I'm not sure my mother would be happy with anybody around her but for the most part, I know she has no complaints towards the caregiver.
