I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am impressed with the staff working the Monday - Friday shifts. They are caring and helpful. However, the weekend staff seems to be below par. Subs are sent in that have no idea what special needs the residents have nor do they care. This appears to be just extra money/shifts for them. It not only infuriates me but the regular staff, as well. They work hard all week to set standards only to have those standards ignored on the weekend. Most residents dread the weekend.

My aunt spent her last few years there, and she and our whole extended family were always impressed with the facilities, activities and staff, who were always caring and professional.

The only assisted living available is at their Cherry Ridge campus. It's beautiful, and very hard to get into. If you or a loved one can get into it, you'll be glad you chose St. Anns!

I visited this facility

My parents and I toured Chapel Oaks for the grandfather. We were pretty surprised at how luxurious and elegant it was. There's a little gift shop, a barber, fine dining! It's really nice here, I'd want to live here!

My grandmother stayed here and my family and I always enjoyed coming to visit. The staff were accommodating and I always felt like my grandma was respected and treated well. Plus, the food was really good!

St. Ann's was my mother-in-law's home for the final years of her life. She was loved and cared for by wonderful staff who we came to have lasting friendships with.

Disappointed and disgusted

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! My husband fell out of bed and lay on the floor for 3 hours before they bothered to check on him. He had brush burns all over his legs from trying to pull himself across the floor. We have had things "missing ' out of his room. His dinner trays have arrived w/NO FOOD on them repeatedly. All I get is 'we will look into it" and never get a response. Dr. never gets back to you after so-called exams. Asking for dentist and podiastrist visits get an ok but then they never show up.. I could go on and on. STAY AWAY

I visited this facility

St. Ann’s was a very nice place. It had an indoor pool. We walked through when it wasn’t one of the visiting days, but they let us in anyway. I saw the dining room and the card playing areas. The dining room looked very nice, very bright, and clean. The people were very nice.

I visited this facility

St. Ann Adult Day Services was a little bit older. It was also a high rise. The residents could not really go outside at all. They had really small lounges for the residents to kind of congregate. They had a rather small TV. It felt much more than a hospital than a place that people lived. They looked like they were well staffed. They had a large chapel there in the building, and they had several nuns who work in the chapel all the time. The staff was very friendly.

Our friend who is in rehab at St. Anne’s had an amputation. He’s been there for about three months now. They have cookouts, food trucks, music, etc., and have a lot of fun activities. The residents who are either wheelchair-bound or ambulatory are all taken to these different events.

My mom was in the rehab center in St. ann's after breaking a hip. They were wonderful. The staff was very caring and we were very happy. When my mom was unable to cone home after rehab as she was 90 years old and needed round the clock care we felt that St. ann's would be a good alternative. Unfortunately we found that the full time nursing care facility was nowhere near as good as the rehab center. There were no activities and not enough nursing staff. My mom did not receive any social interactions. I will say that the staff did seem polite and caring, but they were overwhelmed and unable to provide the patients with much more than basic survival. I get very upset when I think about it.

The care that my mother gets at St. Ann Adult Day Services is very poor. I believe my mother is not getting cared for. I go in, and her hair hasn’t been combed and is dirty even though we have asked them since she’s been there in June to wash her hair twice a week. She is not dressed properly; I went in last night and she had slippers on. Her nails are dirty and long, and she is always in her chair sound asleep. Her laundry is piled up. We communicate; that’s not the problem. The problem is there’s no carry over. They don’t do what they that they’re going to do. It’s dirty, and its smells like urine. The staff is not motivated; they seemed to be put off if you asked them to do something. Of course not everybody is like that -- there are couple very good people -- but overall the staff is very poor. What's good is the fact that my mother is still alive; she has lost 50lbs because she hates the food, so she doesn’t eat. They had her over medicated; she was being given medication for diabetes where her blood sugar levels are normal. I really can’t think of anything good today. They are not giving her attention, and she says anytime she uses her call button, she has to wait a long time before somebody responds to it. She has fallen there in the past five weeks. The nurse supervisor does say that she’s trying to train the staff, and its one excuse after the other. After a while you see a pattern, and you say OK, things were not going to change, so you need to get her out of there.

My mom's care has been excellent at St. Anne's Community for the four months that she has been in the facility. They were very caring and attentive. She wasn’t able to participate in their activities, but she enjoyed the music and they always have something for everybody to do. The facility is always clean and we made it homey for her. They let us bring in anything we wanted to bring in. My mom has no appetite, but the food always looks and smells very good. I would definitely recommend them.

Chapel Oaks is very nice, very clean, beautiful, and very well run. The residents there are spoiled rotten, and the staff just bend over backwards for these people, which is a good thing. They’ve got a putting range, and they have a walk area.

We had my mother at the rehab center of St. Ann's Home. It was outstanding all the way around. The food was excellent and the people were excellent, at least when dealing with us. They have an excellent cafeteria there, so if somebody wants something other than what is available, they were always there to help. They were very, very nice people.

My mother in law has spent a few weeks in St. Ann's Rehab Facility and has received wonderful care from a host of compassionate and skilled caregivers. Though she has some memory issues at the moment, they have demonstrated great patience and kindness toward her. The cleanliness, food, and attention given have all been terrific. She is about to move into the Nursing Home and we are hopeful this level of care and concern will continue. We are very grateful to all the staff (nurses, therapists, and aides) who have been so kind.

The staff has a huge turnover. There are constantly new aids and nurses that are switching over to different floors or different facilities, so communicating is a little difficult. Many times we have found out that my grandfather was sitting in a wet diaper for a few hours before we get there. He has been hospitalized numerous times for stroke like symptoms but it ended up as simple dehydration. the Aids put water in his room, but do not make him drink it. The staff is normally friendly around us and they have plenty of activities for residents to participate in.

I have been volunteering at/ visiting St. Ann's for over a year now. I have learned about some of the terrible conditions of other nursing homes through literature and films, however, I can say that this is definitely not a nursing home of the like. For the most part, the staff seem to absolutely love what they do and love the residents living there. They do not limit their time or stay to strict to a schedule, but really care about the individual they are interacting with. The facilities are well decorated and give a very "homey" feel to the place. I think that the residents really enjoy all of the holiday/ seasonal decorations as well. The main complaint I would get from the residents, however, was that the food was not always very good. Sometimes it would be served cold and other times, it just tasted too bland. Overall though, I think that St. Ann's is working towards improving and making their residents as happy as possible.

My mother was a patient at St. Ann's for rehab after an illness. I loved the place. It was always clean, the food was excellent and a huge variety. The staff were all caring and immediately available if needed and were always able to answer any questions I had regarding her care. I cannot say enough about St. Ann's = a beautiful facility and they never seemed to be understaffed.
