I moved into here on 2nd of January. The staff is very caring, attentive, and has a special feeling for seniors. They go out of their way to do extra things. For example, I had a clogged toilet, so they sent somebody up to unclog the toilet, which is probably not in their job description. I love the views here and it's right downtown, so we've got magnificent views of the city, the mountains, and the river. I couldn't be happier. The food is adequate, but not great. I prefer to prepare my own food. I have a 2-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. They post the activities every day, but I have not attended any yet.

ABSOLUTELY FILTHY!!!! For 5+yrs my step father at Calistoga Terrace on NE 2nd Ave. These rooms r purportedly cleaned EVERY week. His apartment was absolutely disgusting when I visited on 5/6/23. I removed over 20 garbage bags full of old cups, food containers, and assorted other trash, including rotten fruit and food. I took them to the dumpsters outside because they smelled better then the stench of the garbage shute on his floor. I made my complaints clear and was assured the executive director, would contact me on Monday. He did not. I left 4 messages 4 him that day. 11 days later, I’m STILL waiting!!!

What I liked best about my tour of was the size of the rooms. What I didn't like was how big the place is. There were so many different places where they might have activities or events that I think there will be a degree of confusion that I might not find my way. It was just kind of like a maze when they were taking us on the tour. I'm sure a person would get used to it, but that was a little off-putting to me. Both I and the person who went with me had that feeling that we'd get lost. It's a nice facility, they have a nice outdoor space. My other concern was I didn't see very many people within the facility out and about. The residents weren't engaging in anything that I saw while I was there. The dining area looked very pleasant. On the different floors, they had like a small dining area so you could eat on your own floor if you chose to. But they also had a very nice dining room on the main level.

I went here. It's small, intimate, and beautiful. It's in a great neighborhood with lots to do within relatively easy walking distance. The staff who accommodated me was great. Melissa was incredible. She took lots of time with my dad and helped put him at ease and asked lots of questions. She was wonderful.

The rooms were spacious, and staff was kind to myself and the people living there. I had an interesting interaction with a lady in the elevator where she said that living there was like being among friends. They have a post office and a little store inside the building, and there are notices posted up for movies showing in the common rooms. There is also a church inside the building! It's a nice place.

It was absolutely awesome. The person who took me on a tour showed me around. She showed me several different options, e.g. apartment areas. She showed me the entire place which was absolutely awesome. I would love to be able to get in there. She also introduced me to the director, which was absolutely wonderful. They were awesome. The place was beautiful, too.

It had a positive atmosphere. They were caring and we were happy to consider moving our mom there. The staff seemed responsive and interested. The room was nice, clean, had a beautiful view, was roomy, and bright. The layout was really good. Everything was close for my mom who doesn't get around very well, including the elevators and the dining room. It seemed manageable for her. They have trips, movies, and different activities for the residents. They were playing bingo when we were there.

A prime consideration in choosing Senior Independent Living at Calaroga Terrace was its central location and easy access to Portland's great Public Transit System(Street Car, MAX train and Bus). But more importantly I made the choice because of Calaroga's reputation of providing a supportive community environment including a dedicated and professional staff. Oh yes, and I do enjoy a panoramic view of the city from my apartment and balcony. Duane

All in all things are going pretty darn good at Calaroga Terrace on the assisted living floor where my husband resides. Staff are very professional and helpful. The call system works pretty good. This is always an area that can use a little work. Aside from the call button he can also call the front desk on the phone at any time night or day - and that is good to know. Meals are pretty amazing - tasty entrees and a buffet style salad bar and soup are always available. We love to get out and it is great to have access to public transportation a block or two away. There are some good eateries in the neighborhood as well. The Calaroga Bus takes people to Fred Meyer and other events and scenic drives. The Calarogo towncar took us to the airport and picked us up upon our return. We feel very well taken care of and feel a part of a wonderful community.

It had very comfortable living conditions, and good people who live there. I did have lunch there, and they had great food. They had lots of activities that could be anything from puzzles to off campus where they would go downtown or up the Lloyd Center. The dining area was excellent, open, bright, and full of windows; it's a good spot.
