Their are some truly caring staff members BUT Always short staffing and huge turnover Very poor communication with social work , director and staff No one takes responsibility for their actions Safety concerns because of low staff 3 people on a weekend shift for 39 residents is a concern I would never recommend this place it’s a nightmare! Your lucky if your loved one gets a 5 min shower a week, you have to be on them with every service they say they provide. It is pretty clean

Highlands at Pittsford was very nice and well laid-out, and the apartments were very nice and cozy. The facilities were very clean and welcoming. It was reasonably priced, which was key, and the grounds were very pretty. The staff member who toured us was very knowledgeable, hospitable, and welcoming. They had two eat-in restaurants within the facility or you can have meals made for yourself. They had a very busy activities schedule.

I visited Heathwood in Penfield. They have a home theater, they take the residents out on field trips, and they also have a game room and dining facilities. They have a van that takes you wherever you want to go, like the doctors' or the grocery store. I'd probably put my mom there if she had wanted to come to New York. They're assisted living plus they have a memory care unit. The people that are there rave about it, but they're also spending $7,000 a month. I like the layout of the place and the apartments are very spacious.

I really like Highlands. I have been up there twice, and it happened to meet my needs. It is a buy-in community with three levels of care. You can get a one- or two-bedroom apartment with a den or a small kitchen, or cottage with a living room, kitchen, and a washer and dryer. The staff was very friendly, and the people were very nice. They really have a lot of facilities like a pool, work-out room and a library. They had a concert that day and took me around to show me the different places to eat.

Highlands at Pittsford was beautiful. It was lovely, but the units they had available were too small. It was what I could afford, but it was small. The facility was beautiful, but it was more expensive, and they didn’t have what I needed at that time available.

I visited The Highlands at Pittsford. It was very nice because they had everything at one place. They had exercise rooms and community rooms. They also had a swimming pool, a barber shop, and a little shop where you can buy what you need. They provide transportation.

The Highlands at Pittsford is a very good facility. I would rate this place very highly. They have a variety of different kinds of apartments. They have one or two bedroom, some with more amenities than others. They have a lot of supporting activities there.

The Highlands At Pittsford is not too far from where we live. This one was very nice. It was a little more expensive, but it was also more convenient. The work attitude of the staff was beautiful. They were very open, caring and helpful. They were very nice. They were very genteel. The dining room was elegant. You can order off a menu. They did have a activity room and part of it was an exercise program and swimming. They also had a library. I like it best that it was very conveniently located for us.

Highlands at Pittsford is a lovely place. My parents are already on their waiting list. I thought it was very clean and very organized. The staff was very warm and friendly. My parents are looking at one of the stand alone cottages, and it is quite lovely and spacious. It is just a very nice place. Their dining room was lovely. They have every sort of activity. They have walking trails and a garden patch. The cottages are just lovely.

Highlands was beautiful. It would have been our first choice, but they couldn't accommodate some of the issues that my mother-in-law has. They had me talk with the nurse practitioner, which was great, and she made a point of making herself available while I was there to talk about my mother-in-law's problems. The rooms were beautiful. They had several sizes. Some of them were spacious. The facility was particularly well-appointed. There were two big dining rooms. Everybody was well-dressed and looked engaged in something.

To be honest, this was one of the best assisted living facilities I had ever seen. It was located in beautiful up-state New York right next to a small forest that could be walked to by family members. The back yard had a small garden where the residents could participate in gardening and growing their own plants. Arts and crafts are also a major benefit to the assisted living experience, which The Highlands had numerous opportunities to paint small ceramic novelties and create other small trinkets. The staff was always tremendous and was always kind and compassionate toward each individual resident of the home. I could always tell that no matter what time or where a resident was, they were always alert and ready to handle any situation that they encountered. Every once in a while I would stay for lunch or dinner with my grandmother. Typically at assisted living facilities the food can seem bland and boring, however the chefs at The Highlands did a phenomenal job at creating food that tasted wonderful and was very healthy for you. I would not have any other assisted living center or retirement home take care of any of my other relatives except The Highlands at Pittsford. They truly are masters of their trade.
