Chancellor's Village was excellent. I liked the overall quality of the whole place and the friendliness of the people, including the staff and residents. The lady who gave the tour was terrific. Of the two rooms that they showed us, one of them was furnished for showing and the other one was in the process of being redone. They were good. They looked nice. The whole facility looked nice. We had lunch there and it was great. Their dining area was also terrific. It was a white tablecloth operation. The food servers were all in uniform. It was very nice. We were very well attended to. We had lunch with one of the residents that we knew there, who was a friend of ours, and he took us up to his room. So, we spent most of the day there.

We toured Chancellor's Village. It's just way too large of a facility, like it's two stories, it's way too many people. It did not feel like it was at home, or anything. We walked by several residents. She didn't even stop and say hi to any of them. The building was very nice. Both memory care and assisted living were interconnected down a long hallway. The staff were nice, but they were more into the sale of the property and it did not feel very welcoming at all.

The level of care for independent living was very high at Chancellor's Village. They offered a lot of services such as house cleaning and transportation to doctor's appointments or other places, as well as safety monitors in every room. I was very impressed with it. It was a very nice, well-equipped apartment. It had a washer and dryer. It had a separate bedroom, a kitchen, and a balcony, and that's really what we were looking for, like a traditional apartment. They offered one meal a day in a very nice dining room. The lady that gave us a tour was excellent. She answered all of our questions. They have morning exercises and they have Bible study groups. They have sing-alongs and a craft room with puzzles out on the table. They have an exercise room and a library. So, they have pretty much anything that you could want.

I toured the independent living section of Chancellor's Village. The lady spent a lot of time with me and was very helpful. She answered every question I had (I had many). The facility was very nice. It was so clean. I was very impressed with the dining room and the facilities. We had the option to try out the food, but we chose not to. However, she sent us home samples of their homemade salad dressings. We are coming from a very large house, so the room there seems small, but it's still very good. It was excellent, much better than we had anticipated. The staff was very friendly. No rushing.

My mother stayed in Chancellor's Village for ten years. Her apartment was very nice. She had a den, she had a separate living area with an adjoining kitchen, a separate dining area, a bedroom, two bathrooms, and a balcony. And it was very nice. If you had to go to the hospital and come back, they would bring you meals to your room. You automatically get one meal a day. They have a very large dining area with linen tablecloths and everything. It's very nice. The food's good. The place was clean. They have activities all the time and their activities director was very good. I went on some of their trips with my mother. They go to the dinner theater, museums, gardens, tours, and formal tea parties, this was before COVID. They'd have bingo every week, they'd have movie nights and popcorn every week and had an activity room if you just wanted to come down, sit and put puzzles together with your friends. They had bridge. They had a poker table, they had computers you could use. They have their own mail service. Everybody brings the mail in and you have your own little post office box. The problem was they kept raising the rent. The price went up every single year. But they do have excellent security there, which is one thing my mother liked, she felt safe there. The security guards were excellent.

I toured Chancellor's Village. They need to upgrade their rooms. I think it was a lot more money than what we're paying. I was hoping to end up there, so I wouldn't have to leave my friends, but it didn't turn out that way. I like the warm feeling. They were very kind. I just don't want to go into some place and think I have to renovate. They need to upgrade. I think the carpeting is sold. I was there when it was built, and it was nice then, but you have to keep up with the times. The person who welcomed us was lovely. The dining area looked nice, but I didn't eat there. The facility needed upgrading. It was clean though. I know they drive them wherever they need to go.

My mother will be moving into Chancellor's Village. I had visited both independent and assisted living because the original plan was that my mom and my father would go into independent living, but my father passed away. It looked like a hotel when you walk in. It doesn't look like the old-style nursing homes where they looked old hospital style. I specifically was looking for my mom and my dad. They wanted apartments; they didn't want rooms. In independent living, they had a full kitchen that had more counter space than most apartments have. When it was both my parents, we were looking at planning on a one-bedroom plus a den, which was really nice that they had that option. With assisted living, my mother won't be cooking, but they still have a good-sized refrigerator and she could use a microwave and she still has two rooms. She has a sitting room and a bedroom along with her private bath. I wanted to put her in the smaller apartment because it was on the first floor. The bedroom was like 9x13. Since my father's not going to be there, she has a twin-size bed and that is enough room for one person. I was not able to tour the dining area in the assisted living because they were changing the carpet, but the dining area in independent living was like a fine restaurant. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. They had a lot of flowering, ornamental trees, and bushes. That was another reason I went with a smaller apartment, they have balconies and screened porches, which is another thing I like. My mother's view is right in the courtyard. They have an activities director and it seems like there is something always scheduled for them to do. They have a full calendar for both independent and assisted. Natalie is the person who helps you find the apartment, and she was exceedingly helpful because at the time my father was in rehab and we had to meet a certain date for his discharge, she was working on that date. They always change out carpet between each resident and my dad elected to have the plank flooring and put in ceiling fans and she was working on that. When I contacted her that my had died and I needed to change my plan, she helped me coordinate to find the assisted living. She's just very, very helpful.

I liked the Chancellor's Village in Fredericksburg independent living. I think their staff really seemed connected to the clients. They seem to know people and they're on a first-name basis. The residents were very cheerful and we got a good and warm feeling there. The only thing we didn't care about was that there wasn't all that much in the way of extracurricular activities. They seemed warm and friendly. The chef made us a fresh pizza to take home and sample. He also made us a jar of tomato soup to take home with us, and that was kind of nice. We got a sense of a little bit of what comes out of the dining room. The food was good. The rooms were nice. Many of them had balconies where you could put a chair to sit outside and just kind of be by yourself. They were clean and bright. If I'm not mistaken, they had a room that was just set up for visits. The grounds seemed well-maintained. I didn't notice anything negative. The only shortcoming is that it's just a block off of a major highway. While we're still driving, hopefully, we'll still be driving when we move in there, but it's a lot of traffic to contend with. If you don't have a car, if you're not driving anymore, then it's really not an issue. They had a lot of activities within the community itself. Outside of the building though, there wasn't a whole lot to do activity-wise. Within the facility, they had a board with all the different things that were taking place every single day. It seemed like there was a good variety of activities inside.

We also liked Chancellor's Village, but they couldn't do the care levels that my mother needed. We only toured the independent part of it. They're all small apartments, and they all have a balcony or a patio. It's an excellent place to live if you're an independent senior because it's a large building of very many independent seniors, so they have activities, and a very small, but complete apartment.

Natalie was wonderful. She gave us a tour of the facility on short notice, and it was beautiful. Natalie spent so much time patiently answering all of our questions and made us feel so much at home. My parents are excited about moving there next week!

I visited Chancellor's Village. it's independent and then you can add services when you need them. It was very nice, very classy, and it's a place where you dress for dinner. It was absolutely gorgeous, they have a nice menu, there's nothing out of place, and it looked like a model home. They go on lots of trips, there's a physical therapist, private nurse, the apartments have a full stove, they have a beauty parlor, and they have a podiatrist who comes in.

My mother was at Chancellor's Village. It was very clean. They had lots of activities for the people. They had a very good restaurant right inside the building. It seemed very active. There were always people out in the hallways. The other residents were always friendly. The staff members were great. They were absolutely topnotch. My mother's room was an apartment. It had a separate bedroom, a separate kitchen with a granite countertop and stainless steel appliances. Before she moved in, they had re-carpeted the place, repainted everything, and moved in new appliances, including a washer and dryer. They had several activities available. They had a very busy activity calendar. The residents were required to sign up for the activities that they wanted to go to. They also had a library right inside the place. The public library helped bring books by and the residents had their own books in there as well. They also provided one meal a day for free. Additional meals would come at a cost. The place was very nice, very clean, and very well-maintained. They were a little bit more expensive than others, but it was definitely worth it. It was definitely the nicest place that we saw.

Chancellors Village was wonderful overall, especially the person who showed me around, Vicky, the sales person. Their amenities were beautiful, and it's a beautiful place. At the time, we were looking for my mother and brother, but they didn't offer any two-bedroom apartments, so that was the reason we didn't go with them, but we probably would have gone with them initially. They recommended the community where my mom is now. They have happy hours, bingo, they have people come in to entertain, and they have trips that they take to different activities in the community like the theater and things like that. The dining area was really nice. Everyone that I met there was extremely nice, and I was greeted by everyone I walked by. The place smelled good, not old or icky.

I loved this place. Although we did not choose it because they did not have any 2 bedroom apts. Roxanne was truly wonderful, upfront and honest. This would definitely have been my first choice if they had a 2 bedroom apt.

Chancellor's Village showed me an independent 1- and 2-bedroom apartment. I was very pleased with the staff member who showed me everything. They spent almost two hours with me. I had seen their amenities and their dining room. They talked to me about the different activities, both onsite and offsite.

Chancellor's Village is very modern and well kept, has all the convenience, and is in a very nice neighborhood. It has a chef on duty and three meals a day. They clean your house once a week and have assisted living with 24/7 care. They have it all. The staff is excellent. Everything is very clean. However, the price costs more than I'm willing to pay right now. They have all kinds of things, but nothing I was crazy about. I've seen a studio and a two-bedroom with different layouts. They were small but enough for me.

Chancellor’s Village is my dad’s favorite place and mine too. The rooms were wonderful. It was the oldest building, but it had very nice-sized rooms with a nice layout. It had the largest kitchenettes of the places we visited and had a full-sized refrigerator, which we liked, unlike all the rest that had the end-of-the-counter type. They had balconies or patios for all of their rooms and an extra storage locker room for each resident. Their meals were the best; their soups and everything were made from scratch and fresh, and you can tell from the quality of the food that it was not frozen or processed. I liked that they mix their activities up. So, let’s say, if you like Canasta, one morning it might be at 10 o’clock, and then another time it might be varied to at 2 o’clock since not all of the residents want to get up early and go to Canasta, but they can catch it at a different time of day that suits them better. They have lots of activities off-campus and on-campus. They had the happiest staff and pride in their facility. They wore little name badges that had numbers on them for the number of years they have worked there, and we saw so many people with more than 10 years -- some 20. The only thing negative was that some of these newer places had the bistros so they have these little areas set aside for residents where they could come and get a cup of coffee, some water, and snacks like they bake cookies or put snacks out there and the residents can help themselves. Chancellor Village had a long table with the coffee and the water with the fresh slices of fruit in it and stuff, but it was not really its own little area; it was just like near the dining hall. If they can get the funds in the future to be able to build -- even if it is not on the assisted living side but on the independent living side -- a little café area where people can sit and grab a cup of coffee between meals.

My 97 year old Mother needed assistance and care after she fell and fractured her arm. Her mental health was great. We visited Chancellor's Village and met with Sharon and Roxanne. They were excellent, super friendly and helpful even going to visit my Mother in her home. Within 2 weeks she relocated to Chancellor's Village to a one bedroom assisted living apartment. She is so happy and loves her surroundings, activities, food, the residents and staff and says she is spoiled. It cannot get better than that. Thanks Sharon and Roxanne and Chancellor's Village for making our Mother so comfortable and happy.

My mother stayed at Chancellor's Village for respite care. The staff was kind, warm, open, friendly, and went above and beyond for everything. I can't say enough good things about them. They were amazing. The place was like a cruise ship without the water, like she was on vacation. There were so many activities. She said the food was delicious. They catered to her every need.

I toured Chancellor’s Village for my aunt, and it was lovely. I was very pleased with the woman who took me around. They had independent living and nursing care. They gave me a little gift of a container with home-made soup, so I imagine that the meals are very good. They had a library and craft area for the assisted living. There were flowers, plants, and grass that were well kept and had a nice-looking appearance. They had a separate entrance for assisted living individuals, so they wouldn’t be embarrassed coming in the same door used by people who are more capable. The staff was lovely.

Everybody at Chancellor’s Village has been very helpful with my mom and brother. My mom has been there for two years. My brother and mom are in the independent unit, but the problem is that he needs more help, so I have to move him to an assisted living in Connecticut. The rooms are nice and fine and offered as one or two bedrooms. Sometimes the food is good, and sometimes it’s not so good.

We’ve decided on Chancellor’s Village. It’s only about five or six miles from where we live. We have friends who mentioned the fact that they knew people up there. So we went up, and looked it over. We were satisfied, and in fact we're satisfied enough that we've decided to go there.

Chancellor’s Village has all the bells and whistles. Even the waiters are well dressed, and the women had their hair done. It seemed a little bit over the top. It was as close as the period of where my mom has lived all her life. It was on the top of our list. The rooms have a stove, washer, and dryer.

Chancellor’s Village was very clean and friendly. I liked the way everything was set up. They had a room there where it looked like they were playing bowling on the Wii. I think they had movies. There was a schedule there where you could go and do activities. They did have a wait room in case you wanted to go in and do a little exercise. They have a little lunch room where you go in for your meals. They have a little library where you can go in and read and have some books. They have a bus that will take you to doctor’s appointments if needed. I was very impressed.

I liked it very much. It is actually closer to where I live, and the services looked about equal to the other place I visited, but they didn't have a two-bedroom available. They were very friendly, and I actually know some people that have been in Chancellor's Village, so it came highly recommended. It's not so new, and the bedrooms were a little smaller but not a deal breaker. Then they had a little patio, porch, or balcony. They had some activities there, but they provided transportation to movies, bowling, churches, and other places.

Chancellor is more upscale, and they offer a lot of built things that you didn’t get at the other facility I went to. The nicer thing about this facility is that there seemed to be a lot more personnel, and what I didn’t like about this facility is that it is a multilevel facility, but I would recommend this place.

The Chancellor's Village was wonderful, but they were way out of my price range. Everything was beautiful, just tip-top. I had an opportunity to meet the people, who were very accommodating. The apartments were very nice. In fact, they were remodeling some of the apartments. They had many activities, and they took care of everything; every step you took, they took care of it. I think they were tops, but like I said, they were out of my price range and they had a very high entrance fee. To anybody who has the money, I would recommend it.

We've placed my mother in Chancellor's Village. It's very nice. They have great food. The staff is very good, very caring. Mom's room is adequate; it's very nice. The security is very good; you have to sign in and out. There are lots of activities there, but she doesn't do any of them.

Chancellor's Village was nice. The staff seemed fine. The dining room was nice. The rooms were good too. It was pretty much equivalent to the place we chose, but we really wanted to be closer to family in Richmond. It was also much expensive than the place we chose.

Chancellor's Village was a very large community. They had two people there who were blind. I didn't feel like my aunt would be watched as closely as I would like for her to be, but otherwise, the facility is very nice. The staff was very personable. They got the message to who I needed to get it to. They follow up with me with e-mails, letters, and phone calls. It seems the residents who live there are very personable as well. I think you need to be a little more mobile at Chancellor's than what my aunt is. It was a very nice facility, very up to date, very open. They had a little garden area out there, but it didn't hit me as far as what I thought my aunt would need as far as care.

Although Chancellor’s Village has a Independent Living community with extensive services and amenities, our Assisted Living is located in a smaller and more intimate setting. Our assisted living community has a longstanding reputation in the market for quality care. This is due in large part to our stable staff that is dedicated to delivering the highest standards in services to our residents. Additionally, in order to prepare a personalized care plan prior to admission each move-in is assessed by a licensed nurse. To ensure the plan is up-to-date a follow-up assessment is schedule every 90-days or upon a change in condition. Lastly, in addition to the customary amenities we also offer on-site therapy services and an innovative non-invasive technology that monitors resident behaviors. While it is our hope that your loved one has identified an assisted living community we are confident that we could provide an excellent quality of life for residents with more personalized needs.

I was looking to move my mother from her Assisted Living home in Florida to have her closer; after this past winter, I should consider moving down there instead. Last year, I made an appointment at Chancellor’s Village to speak with Lara, the Sales Counselor. She was amazing. After only about 10 minutes of questions/answers back and forth, I’m sure she realized that my mother could not afford to move to this area but she continued to answer my questions and concerns about handling my mother’s affairs long distance. She gave me some great advice and has even continued to stay in touch to see how things are going. Bottom line, if my mother could afford to move to the Fredericksburg area, I would not hesitate to move her to Chancellor’s Village.

Aside from the coziness and charm, Chancellor's Village is fun. My grandparents lived there until my grandfather died. The dining room offers quality gourmet meals and the residents enjoy dining with family and friends whenever they can. Roxanne and Lara love the community and the residents and that love flows over in all that they do. I am a huge fan.

Chancellors Village is tops! Mom went there for what would of been a two stay for respite care while we went out of town. She is now officially a new Resident ! The facility is gorgeous , clean and can't say enough about the staff there. The dining experience is like being at a resort . Mom loves the linen table cloths, great menu to order off of and a wonderful wait staff ! The apartments are beautiful and well maintained as the grounds. The transition from visitor to surprise resident was such a easy transition with the help of Lara ! Thank you CV! Conner family

After visiting and dining at other local establishments, I selected Chancellors Village for mother, later recommended to and now also enjoyed by our prior neighbor. Chancellor's Village is hands down the best independent care facility in the Fredericksburg area. Mom, age 96, continued her passions for music by joining the choir, her passion for gardening with prepared resident plots, and enjoyment of family by winning the Halloween contest with children from the surrounding area. That is just one of continuing programs that visited. Outings included trips to the wonderful Marine Museum, theater/concerts and the more casual - Yoder's Market complete with small animals. The maintenance staff showered immediate and continued support to make her feel welcome to the nth detail. A hand selected ambassador helped mom learn the ropes. Rooms provide the most bang for the dollar. Computer classes are not mentioned in the site video which tells more. Outside the dining room doors actual serving selections wet the residents' appetite while resident provided music is enjoyed in the waiting area. The chef catered to my visiting brother's sever health needs upon his visit. Not enough praise can be bestowed for his compassion. Space, food, staff, opportunities, setting, transportation, cost and resident caliber are unsurpassed. I'd give a 4.5 star recommendation if allowed. There will be no remorse if you stop for a visit. Bet you stay.

Our mother, now 90, has lived at Chancellors Village for 15 years transitioning from independent to assisted living. The staff is first rate, always pleasant, attentive and patient. Daily support (eg. medications, bathing assistance, etc.) is well organized, efficient and very dependable. Assisted living apartments are very clean and well maintained. Private apartment with one bedroom, bathroom, living room (with full size refridgerator, cabinets and sink), and private porch provides comfortable living. Dining room (3 meals per day), with menu and special diets, allows residents freedom to eat any time during serving hours. Chef and full wait staff is available at every meal. Daily activities are always an option (field trips, movies, hair dresser, exercise, guest speakers and other entertainment). Sunday transportation to religious services and other transportation is available for doctor appointments and shopping during the week. Assist living lobby and entrance (front desk, sitting room, staircase and elevator) is bright, clean, and cheerful. Birds and tropical fish in sitting room an added plus. Overall, management and staff set Chancellor's Village apart from all other facilities.
