Great home for my mom. The staff treats her like family. She really thrived over the past 5 or so years there. When we asked her how she was, she would say - "I live in a resort hotel, everyone takes care of me, I dont have to cook or clean, eat with friends in the dining room, play cards and games and walk around Sheepshead Bay to get out into the fresh air." It's been great for her, always feel that she's happy and busy. How great is that?

I toured Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay. They were on par with the other facility. The rooms were a little bit smaller, but the facility appeared to be a little bit newer. The staff was equally friendly, outgoing, and honest with expectations. The location is also very good, but presents its challenges. For example, parking at that facility is not that easy given its location. I also didn't pay attention to their amenities, and the reason I didn't pay attention is because my father would not be able to participate in any of those anyway.

We liked the Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay, but the location was not suitable for our family. It was gonna be hard to get to, and it's a little beyond our price range. It was like a very high-end motel. Their cuisine was very good, and the furnishings and ambience were nice. Just from my mother-in-law having been in another Sunrise facility, I had a good impression, and the tour did not disappoint. The location was just not quite right, and the pricing also was not what we were looking for. The staff was very professional and very warm. The little interaction we had with the person at the front desk who took us on the tour was very positive.

Some of the rooms at Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay seemed very nice. They had different types of rooms, different levels for different affordability. It looked like a hotel in a way. The person who gave the tour was excellent and very, very helpful. There were some very nice sitting areas, there was a fireplace that seemed very comfortable. It seemed kind of appealing to me, but it was not affordable for my mother. It looked like they had something a little more sophisticated than the other place in terms of activities. I think they had reading or some other types of activities that seemed a little bit more for educated people. The appearance of the facility inside was attractive.

After months of my mom settling in they now want to move her. The rooms are now under construction in the middle of a Pandemic! Change is very hard for older adults, I mean over 90. There is no consistently here. Meals are served whenever and cold. The aids run this place. I've heard them yelling at my mom while I have been on the phone. My mom is afraid to say anything because of retribution. She calls for help and can wait hours. If you call Staff they will respond with, "I'll get back to you" or I'll look into it". I have witness shift change with no temperature check. Don't get taken in by smiling faces and sweet talk. It disappears after you sign the papers.

I was very disappointed with Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay. They were very unprofessional, rude, and not responsive. Our experience was awful. My mom suffers from depression and they just let her sit in her room and they didn't try to initiate any kind of influence to get her out of her room. They even brought her meals to her room. Her room was filthy, and there was a leak from the ceiling. Their service was deplorable, and the food was mediocre at best. Even when we had to switch her over, they were very reticent to release her medical records. I left messages with admissions and they never returned our call. They basically gave up on her and just let her lay in bed all day. Nothing was acceptable. They were not receptive to me and my brother when we would call them. The hallway was dark. They were understaffed, and there never was a nurse present when I was there. Their charge was outrageous for the services they provided.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay was like a maze, I like it the least, and even the person who gave me the tour seemed like she was not familiar with the place. It was a bit convoluted, and the staff didn't seem quite friendly. You can feel that the staff is not happy. I did not like the rooms, the stoves were not working, it was like a hotel that was converted into a facility. It's not the ideal location for seniors.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay was excellent and I liked the community a great deal. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and as soon as you walk through the door they address you and greet you. The rooms were nice, I toured an apartment on the second floor, and it was very nice. The place was really friendly and if I was still looking this would be one of my number one choices. I tried their food once and it was excellent and tasty. I saw people exercising, there was some kind of a game going, and there were people sitting in the little foyer talking.

I visited sunrise at Sheepshead Bay, it felt comfortable going there, and the staff was very welcoming. Theyre very nurturing, and the people looked happy like they were at home. They have a little lounge area, if they want to watch their own TV shows, they have a few lounge areas, she showed me the living areas, the memory boxes, and activity area where they can do puzzles. It seemed like its all inclusive, and it makes them comfortable.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay's room had a water view and it was gorgeous. The tour director was very good and the nurse was great.

Everything is nice at Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay. They have bingo, card games, exercise rooms, trivia questions, and a TV room. There's always a person assigned to take care of Mom's needs who helps her get dressed, take a shower, comb her hair, and makes sure she gets down for lunch. They also have nursing services all day long. The staff is very helpful and answered all my questions. The people who run the place know me by my first name. They are doing the best they can.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is very nice, but I can't afford it. It's beautiful, and the rooms are very nice, but their amenities are mostly geared to people with dementia, which my mother doesn't have. She can't speak, but it's not dementia. She can understand, so she needs a different kind of environment than somebody with dementia. Also, it was way out of my price range. They showed me some of the rooms with different games, a theater room, and different activity centers; the theater would be a nice thing for my mother.

We absolutely loved Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay and how open it was. It didn’t look like a nursing home; more like a high-tech apartment building. The whole layout was beautiful. I liked every little thing about it. I liked that the residents were moving about freely, interacted with each other and with the staff casually, and the staff members knew everything about them. I liked that they ate off of real plates. The chef told us that they have selections for meals, so they weren’t just served the meals, like in a hospital. I liked that the residents themselves had to get their names printed on the outside of their apartments. I loved the gardens, which would have been my mother’s physical therapy. The view, because it was right on the water, was just beautiful. The staff member who showed us around was so patient with us. She answered all our questions and spoke to us privately, then took us around. She took time on the tour to talk to the residents who wanted to talk to her at that moment. She was very caring with them and patient, too. We loved everything and have nothing bad to say. They had a variety of arts and crafts. We saw all the different rooms where they partake in activities. They also had games, which was really physical therapy but under the guise of games. They had a little media room where they got to interact as if they were in a movie theater instead of just sitting around watching TV. They also had a kitchen where they cook with them. They can make holiday cookies for Hanukkah or Christmas or prepare a meal together, again as part of therapy to keep them active and engaged. It was absolutely beautiful and in a gorgeous area with all grass. Anywhere you sat had a view of outside.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay was lovely. We loved it, but it was a bit expensive. The staff was wonderful, and everybody was so pleasant. The rooms were great and fully furnished, but the shared ones were kind of small. What I didn’t like about it was that it should have at least a curtain separating the two beds, so they can give them a little bit more privacy. The dining room was good, nicely decorated, and accommodating. They had a menu. They were really good.

I was impressed by Sunrise. They have an instructor or leader, and they were doing exercise programs. The dining area was clean and formal looking. The staff was friendly.

The food at Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay was just horrible. The vegetables were almost like raw; it was terrible. The rooms were really nice, and they have a nurse’s station, but everything is very far away scattered in the building. It’s much too big for my mother to navigate, and the food was horrible. It has to have everything, but the building is in very nice situation, and the rooms were really nice -- the studio apartments. The staff was very nice, and they had a lot of nice areas, but they were also very isolated. You would be by yourself.

They gave me a tour of Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay, and it was very nice. The main issue with them was that they did not offer a kosher food selection, so I couldn’t consider it any further. If they would have offered kosher even if it would have been more expensive, I think I might have gone with them. The staff was excellent, very helpful, and knowledgeable. They had people stationed at the front desk and in the common areas like the dining room and the recreation room, so I thought the security was very good. They did keep a full slate of activities. They had a monthly sheet that was available in the lobby outlining the various activities going on for that day as well as for the entire month ahead.

When we went to Sunrise. It seemed cozier. It was like a home over there. It was a different feeling. It was very clean, and very well-maintained.

I visited Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay. I didn’t get to see much, but it seemed nice. The staff was friendly. The parking was very convenient. Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is set back from the boardwalk on Coney Island, so it offered a very nice opportunity for walks. Also, you’re basically right by the beach; I liked that part of it. It was very nice.

Sunrise is very nice and very welcoming to all of the families. It’s like an apartment building where everyone has a mailbox on the first floor. It’s very sunny with a lot of windows, and they have their own garden they can go into. The staff is very nice and very informative. Mother was treated very nicely there. The rooms were set up like mini apartments that included a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, pantry, and a big closet. There’s a ton of activities, like cooking, painting, reading, games, and trips to movies, to the mall, and to the casino. I took Mother for lunch, and the food was very good. The dining room was set up like a restaurant, and you have your own private table with 2-4 people at a table. You can bring your pets there.

I think the rooms at Sunrise of Sheepshead Bay are nice. It’s a very well-kept facility, very clean, and the people seem friendly. After speaking with several people, it did seem like it’s the top choice in Brooklyn. The staff is very pleasant, and the food is fairly good. They have trivial pursuit, word games like hangman, bingo, and some other things. My brother seems happy there.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is lovely. It is very homey. It looks like a boutique hotel and it is right on the bay, so in the summer, it is very nice. They have a nice dining room. I can't say too much about the care because my husband has only been there for a little over a week. The food is very good. They give them a menu. They have a choice of food and they can pick what they want. They do have activities, but I think they could do a little bit more as far as the activities are concerned. They have somebody come in and play some music once a week, but they don't seem to have too many activities. I wasn't too happy about that. The rooms are nice. They have a different variety. My husband has a private room. Then they also have little apartments for couples with a bedroom and a living-dining room type thing.

I like that Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay has a lot of activities for the residents. They have day trips, and occasionally they'll have barbecue outdoors and games. They try to keep everyone busy. We were quite happy in terms of the way it looked, the way it was organized, and the staff itself. Unfortunately, they were full, and we had to put our names as a possibility once an opening came about.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is fabulous. I visited two locations for Sunrise, and both are great. They have very good service, and it is very clean. They are really good and very attentive. I went with my mom, and she said she would go now if I would pay for her. She was ready to sign up, but she doesn't need assisted living. We all loved it. It is located on a strip of restaurants right by the water. There are ships that go off for fishing or entertainment cruises. It is a very happening strip and a very lively area which I thought would be good for my father. He could take a stroll and be among a lot of people. The summer is great, and they have a lot of seafood which he loves. They have a lot of clam bars. That is what I thought was best about that place.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is OK. Everybody was pleasant. The rooms are a lot larger, and they look clean. They have one large room where they come in to do the activities. They can get their hair done on certain days. They have a manicurist come to do their manicure and pedicure. They have an outdoor time where they are supposed to go out every day. The facility is clean and well lit. For me, it was a nice welcoming experience.

Mom is in Sunrise and it's wonderful. The staff is wonderful; the rooms are lovely, it's very comfortable. It's naturally light-filled, and it's a very warm and caring place. The food is very good. They have bingo, word games, and musical activities. They have trips outside of the facility to various restaurants or shopping.

Sunrise is our choice because of its location and promotion. It is in a very nice location at the bay with boats. It seems to be clean and well kept. The people are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. My mother is in a studio with a shared kitchenette. It is small but it is good that she has private bath and not a shared bath. The food is fine. The portions are reasonable and they have a selection for each course. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They go on trips. They have restaurants and stores within one or two blocks distance.

Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay is a nice 4-story facility. Mom seems to like a few of the staff that take care of her. She gets three meals a day, they bathe her, and they help her get into bed. They even have a beauty parlor. They also have people come in for activities, although my mother rarely participate. There are certain things that she don't want to do. But I feel like they should be a little more aggressive or a little more forceful on her to do stuff, especially with exercise. But I understand they don't want to cause an issue.

I have my both aunts at Sunrise Assisted Living and they are doing great. The facility is clean and inviting. The staff is great, they all know how to deal with the aged, and the residents seem very happy with their enviroment. Just because you have gotten older, doesn't mean you have to stop your life...you just need some help...

The rooms were all clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The helped my grandpa with everything he needed, ensured he took his medicine when he needed it, and genuinely seemed to make an attempt to keep him happy. The only downsides were that the rooms were small, and the food was not very good. However, for the price, I believe that using the facility was a great decision. When my grandpa passed away, the nurses seemed not just sympathetic, but understanding and upset themselves. It was great to see a place like this after some of the horror stories you hear about other places.
