Cities where a home health aide typically costs less than the statewide average include Auburn, Florence, Montgomery, Gadsden and Mobile; respective hourly rates in these cities are $18.50, $18.75, $19.23, $19.99 and $20.00. Charging $21.00 per hour, home health aides cost a little more than the state norm in Dothan and Huntsville. Hourly prices rise to $21.57 in Tuscaloosa, $22.00 in Decatur and $22.75 in Birmingham.
