The atmosphere at Arbors was good. It was very clean, bright and shiny, and the people that work there seem to be very knowledgeable. They were doing a fine job. My mother was happy in there. They have lots of activities like sing-alongs, movies, bingo, and other recreation. They even take residents on outside trips.

My husband was transported there in April 2012 from Mon General with terminal cancer. I followed the ambulance. When I got inside, I found him ready to fall out of the bed and his oxygen not plugged in and not in his nostrils. The male nurse on staff was too busy with two young student nurses to bother with my husband. I had to go into the hall to get him and was discussed with his lack of concern. Worthless!!! Come to find out his shift was nearly over. My husband almost died in my son’s arms during this time. I went out to the main desk to use the phone to call the Squad to take my husband back to Mon General and this same nurse refused me use of the phone, because he didn’t have orders from their doctor. Another nurse was walking through the door at this time and after explaining what my husband had gone through, I was handed the phone and I got my husband removed from the Arbors ASAP!!! My husband was re-evaluated after returning to Mon Health and found that he suffered a setback at the lack of care he got at the Arbors. He died two weeks later. I would not recommend taking anyone to this stinky, incompetent nursing facility!!!

As a former resident of Fairmont I have had the opportunity to visit the Arbors many times. I would visit frequently with my church to provide companionship to the residents. Although the staff is friendly I personally would not recommend this facility. It is not very well maintained. I was faced with having to make a decision on what facility would provide care for my grandfather. Unfortunately I did not consider The Arbors.
