My mom is doing rehab at PruittHealth - Neuse in New Bern. They're releasing her this coming Thursday. The facility is clean and the staff is very helpful, very kind, and answered any kind of questions we had. They're treating my mom well. She also loves the food there. What I like most is the people that worked with my mom because they showed her a lot of care and engaged her in a lot of conversations. That was good for her socially and health-wise. There was just one nurse that I felt was a little harsh but she was only there one time. Everybody else, the ones bringing the food and the CNAs, were outstanding. One concern we had was when they review her medication list, they took away certain medications that we have worked hard to get for her. It just kind of seemed like when she had a particular complaint and I was trying to get that medicine back on her list, they kind of gave her a hard time about it.

My husband was recently a resident at this facility, and our experience had a lot to be desired. Some of the staff are helpful, kind, considerate, and compassionate, and some are obviously there for a pay check only. The CNA's seem to be more professional than some of the nursing staff. Staff need to improve on responding to residents when they hit the call button as this means they ned something or may be in distress. Nurses need to pay more attention to the details of residents medication. If a resident or family member is not able to question what is being given, there are occasions where the wrong meds are given or the correct meds are not given. This can cause short term, long term or even fatal results for the resident. Some of the nurses just don't seem to be that knowledgeable or patient friendly. Social skills, people skills seem to be lacking with some staff.

They don't take up the food trays on in a timely manner, I noticed that some of the residents are also not fed in a timely manner, nor do they make sure that they are properly cared for! One lady after being informed that my day may need to be feed to make sure that he eats stated that they were not going to do that! Really????????
