My friend is at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation. His room is kept clean. There's somebody in there vacuuming every day. The food is good enough to eat. The staff does their job. I don't have any problems with them at all. They all talk to me. However, if we don't get early and get the handicap parking, we have to walk and it's too far for me.

My mother has been there for a year. The food is terrible. They can't keep even close to fully staffed and we get the run around from administrative staff. The cleanliness is hit and miss. Many times I go and try to find staff to discuss health, meds, etc and can find no one. This is not how we should treat our elderly population. They are not throw away or disposable. My brothers and sister and I are at the end of our rope.

I was here after my knee surgery, the food was dreadful, the aides we thin and hard to find, everyday I would ask for pain med in the afternoon only to be told it would be an hour or more because the nurse was on another hall!!

My Mother went into this facility from the hospital as a rehabilitation basis. She was improving greatly and was walking with a walking, I have never seen anyone decline as rapidly as she did. She wore the same clothes for three days until I changed her, her belongs were always gone. She came out with bruises and skin breaks, rashes from wetting herself. Horrible place. Beautiful setting, not ran well.

I don't often write reviews, but my mother was in this facility. While it looks amazing on the surface, the quality of care is low, and they are truly indifferent to the needs of the patient. If your loved one just needs a place to rehab but has no major medical or dietary needs, this would be great for them. Otherwise, don't be fooled by the beautiful look of the facility--instead find somewhere more concerned with meeting the needs of the patient.

Maples Health and Rehabilitation was like the Caesar's Palace in Vegas. It's a very nice, new facility. What impressed me was the quality of the nurses. However, when she was not ready to be discharged, they discharged her anyway. The staff was friendly, but a lot of them didn't have a whole lot of time for one-on-one time with patients. They have a really good physical therapy staff, but if someone says they don't feel like doing it, they would say you don't have to do physical therapy, take it easy, do exercises where you can remain sitting down but still working your arms and your cognitive versus getting up and being on the treadmill or getting in and out of a truck to practice occupational therapy. Their food was awesome, and they really had a good dietary plan.

Would seem to operate on a private club mentality... if your loved one is in pain and does not deal well with pain, this would NOT be a good place for you to even consider. They only want happy, cheerful, sufferers of pain (i.e., not patients who don't deal well with pain, and being left in feces filled adult diapers... and as a result are grumpy and irritable).. Giving NO stars would have been my preference.

We had placed my father in 3 nursing facilities prior to this one and finally found one that we felt was best. When we visited prior to moving my father we made a point not to announce it Something we learned to watch for was how quickly an aid would come to answer a call button pressed by a resident there. This facility did an awesome job. Most we visited had buzzers going off and no one paying any attention to the patients call button...this one was an exception. When we walked in ....no buzzing! If we heard one go off...it was immediately attended to! The nurses were great and very caring. I would recommend the Maples to anyone in need of a nursing facility in Springfield, MO.
