Across the state, the Alzheimer's Association expects the number of people needing dementia care in what the state calls Extended Congregate Care facilities (ECC) to ramp up from 540,000 to 720,000.
Families and their loved ones with dementia may benefit from specialized supervision in a facility licensed and regulated by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. Hernando County has three ECCs in Spring Hill and one in Brooksville.
