I am a friend or relative of a resident

My great-grandmother was a resident at this facility for several years. I felt some of the nursing staff to very kind and loving, although very under staff. They worked short alot which created issues on safety. I feel with more adequate staffing my great- grandmother would not of gotten out of bed and broke her hip. The meals were well balanced. The kitchen staff was always going out of their way to make sure my great- grandmother ate something.I feel the decor could be alittle warmer but the rooms were always for the most part clean and de-cluttered.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's years before her stay at the Newton Center. She stayed there for a short stay, having only been there for rehabilitation. The staff were a mixed bunch; some were very kind and full of smiles, while others seemed to think most of the patients were bothersome, but I suppose those mixed attitudes can be found almost anywhere. The facility was kept clean, although at one point my grandmother's stuffed animal went missing. However, the social worker assigned to my grandmother was more than willing to track it down for her. All in all, it was a nice place for her to stay in even though I wish the nurses would react to the patients' needs a little more quickly.
