My mom moved into Montello Heights. It's well-organized and clean. It's got a library. It's got one meal included and light housekeeping. The room is very nice. It's a studio apartment. We're managing out of pocket based on her benefits. And the people there are kind. Mom is pretty sharp. She's in her 80s, but she's got some mobility issues, and they're aware of that. The building is designed with wider hallways, and the room itself is designed for wider doors and wider entries to accommodate people who might be in scooters or in wheelchairs.

Montello Heights had the nicest setting that we saw. It was in a little forested area with very pleasant views out the windows. The rooms were adequate. The building was kept up well. The staff we met were very pleasant and the residents were very warm, and we appreciated having the chance to interact with them. We went into the dining area and it was very nicely set up. We also saw their laundry room. They had in-town rides to different places that you might need. They had some set programs, like music that came in to perform, art classes, and games. They also had areas to accommodate visitors.

My mother-in-law is in hospice, and my father-in-law is in Montello Heights. We looked at three different places, and this one had an opening and the lowest price, so it all worked out.

I am living in Montello Heights -- the scenery around, the landscaping, and the building are great. They have plenty of parking for the tenants and the visitors. The interior is very nice. They have a rug on the floor, but not the plush one. It's thin and it's woven really tight, so it really is easy to clean. They have a continental breakfast which is fantastic, and the dinner is out of this world. For me, supper is too light because it is usually a soup and a sandwich. The ice cream shop is opened all the time anytime you want ice cream. The other day, we went out to the Taste Maine, which is a very fine seafood restaurant, and we were guided with a bus; it was fantastic. You pay for the dinner, but the ride was free. They have bingo twice a night, dancing, exercise classes, people that administer the medication, housekeeping, and a laundry room where you could do your laundry or you could have it monthly or weekly on your bill, but if you do it, it's free; all the ingredients and detergents are supplied. The personnel are just great. It's very nice here.
