I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They treat my grandma awful they tell lies about her to try to get her into skilled living instead of assisted living. The doctor told them to take her blood pressure everyday so they come in at 5:30am and wake her up to take her blood pressure. They tell her she shouldn't be going to the bathroom by herself she might fall to scare her. They won't come when she turns her light on for help. They say she is peeing the bed which is not true. They had her see their speech therapist and she said she needed to be on a special diet and she can't be in assisted living if she is on a special diet. Her doctor put in a referral to a speech therapist at Ball Hospital the nursing homes speech therapist wasn't even supposed to see her. They also said she couldn't be in assisted living if they had to check her blood pressure everyday. Instead of taking care of her and making her feel safe they are scaring and upsetting her. Very dissatisfied with this place if it wasn't for her having friends there and upsetting her more she would be moved somewhere else immediately. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father-in-law is in Parker Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. They are awesome. Somebody is going in and out of his room regularly so they are checking on him and making sure that he's not falling. They're very cheerful too and the staff is just wonderful. They're busy and constantly working with the patients. You don't see the halls empty. They're even bringing some of the people up to the nurse's desk, those that tend to wander or fall, so they can interact with each other and they can see them. The first day we were there, a physical therapy person jumped in to help us. They happened to have a meeting that they only have once every 3 months, and we just happened to come in to get my father-in-law transferred. She jumped in and helped get him situated and everything. It wasn't even her job, but she did it with a cheerful attitude. They're just superb and I heard nothing but good things from other people that have someone in there too. It's a nursing home and also a rehab place, which is what my father-in-law is in for. I heard they have a very small assisted living area that's only like 9 people. One of them is double occupancy, so there are only 8 rooms. It's very small and they don't have any openings now for that. I didn't know about it until we put him in because they don't have openings. I noticed that they don't have as many rooms as they could, in terms of meeting areas and stuff like that. The hallways would be a little better if they were wider too but they're fine and good enough for what they're doing.

My mother is in Parker Health Care for rehab. So far, they've been very good. The rehab part of it is excellent, they are with them every day doing their exercises, and taking care of them. I think what we're seeing there is what I've heard about other places. It seems like it takes them a long time to help them to get to the bathroom; it could be a staff shortage or that they're just overburdened right now. The food is excellent, the people are very caring, and we're really happy with the services there.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I wouldn't go back to Parker Health Care. I was there for four days and not one time did they look at the wound to take care of it. They also did not change the bed while I was there. I was in a double room and the people on the other side watched NASCAR all the time. It was just a miserable four days. The food was not that good. The people who came in to the room to serve the food were fine, but I didn't like the doctor. Also I didn't get my own doctor because they had a staff doctor.
