Wabash Retirement Center is so resident centered. My Aunt really feels at home with her new neighbors. She is in a nice large room with a sweet roommate. I seemed to be more upset about her going in the nursing home then she was. My Aunt still had a very sharp mind and we could sit and play cards for hours on end. She just couldn't remember to take her medicine when she needed to. The Nurses were so wonderful to her and would stop by and speak with me each time I would visit. The cna's really seemed to have a true respect for the residents. There job is a hard one, and I really think they do a great job. My Aunt talks about how friendly they are and how they are sweet little ladies. One of her favorite activities in the home is the arts and crafts. My Aunt has always loved making things with her hands and the ladies that work in that department have so much patience, I really feel they have a calling for what they do.

My grandfather stayed in Wabash Christian assisted living for about six months, before he had his heart attack and had to move into a full care unit. The unit he stayed in was a very nice one bedroom unit, he was able to cook is own meals in the small kitchen. But we knew if he had any problems he would be able to call for help. The nurses were very sweet to him and called him gramps. He was a big ladies man so he loved that. We really didn't know how my grandfather would take to living there, because he had lived on his own his whole life. But the nurses and cna's made him feel so safe and happy he really grew to love them. I know when he got sick, he really wanted to move back, but sadly he died before he got the chance.
