My husband has been a resident of Brookdale Palma Sola for several months. We are extremely pleased with his care. The staff is wonderful and if I encountered an issue, it was immediately addressed. His room is perfect for him and generally very happy with the food. I felt welcomed and comfortable from the first time I visited. Highly recommend for those looking for a warm atmosphere for their loved one .

I toured Brookdale Palma Sola. The staff was friendly, the grounds were very clean, and they offer quite a bit of activity there. They have a big dining area, and then they have an area where they can get their own food like snacks and so forth. The rooms were a good size with their own bathrooms, so they're not shared bathrooms. They do exercises in groups, take them out on outings or shopping, take them to doctors' appointments, and they play bingo and cards. You can tell that they do activities because they have these chairs set up for them to do things, and they do it all in a big area. It's a very group-oriented place.

I toured Brookdale Palma Sola. It's a one story, and it contains studios and studios plus one-bedroom. It has a full dining facility. It's clean, neat, and well kept. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. I recommend it to anyone looking for an assisted living facility. They have transportation for appointments.

I went to Brookdale Palma Sola. I liked the setup of the room. What I liked the least was it wasn't too jolly. The people seemed very somber. The person I spoke to and the nurse were very nice and very knowledgeable, but they didn't seem friendly with the occupants of the place. I didn't see them say hello to anybody. They seemed to have great amenities. It was very well kept, very clean, and orderly. The room was very adequate. The closet size was good, too. The layout seemed very nice.

I did a tour of Brookdale Palma Sola. The dining room was stunning. They had beautiful draperies and big tables with a lot of people sitting around them. They were having dinner when I got there. They told me to come over around five. They had a big baby grand piano in there. The place was bright and cheery, it's very nice, but the rooms were what I didn't care for. They were a bit small. The staff showed me one room that overlooked a retention pond. It had a lot of crap floating on the top of the water. It needed either one of those circulation sprayers in it, or it needed someone to put chemicals in it. It's not something you'd want to sit and look at. In the little area where you could go out, there was no grass, it was just dirt. Their staff said they were planning on putting up a white fence, so you didn't see the pond. But I would think if you sat out there, you would smell it. The roof was leaking in one of the rooms from one end to the other, and I brought that to her attention. She didn't notice that, so she wrote it down. They had busses, doctors come in, and nurses too. They had several different types of doctors. They have rooms that you could go into for exercise and had exercise classes. The busses would take you to the grocery store, and they would take you to the doctor, if you had an outside doctor, for a radius of about ten miles from the place; it's as far as they go. They take you on secret trips where you don't know where you're going to get there. They had a lot of activities. Everybody looked happy there. The staff who assisted me, Theresa, was very nice. I just looked at some of the food on people's plates as I walked past the dining room. Everybody looked like they were all talking to each other, laughing, and smiling. They seemed very happy. I like the idea of how many men they had there. It was about 60% women and 40% men, where years ago you'd have like ten women for every man. So, it was nice to see more men in there.

My mother was a resident of Brookdale Palma Sola for four years. The reason we left there was basically the food. It was the same thing over and over again, and her room was quite small. We were trying to get something bigger and with better food. The room was very nice and very clean. They had a really nice dining room. They had activities for the people to do. The way the place is laid out, they had a little patio in between the different wings. She was there for four years, so it wasn't that bad.

We like Brookdale Palma Sola. The pricing was more in my father's budget. Everything was excellent. They were having activities going on at that time, and it was very nice. We saw a bingo game. The staff was wonderful. We didn't try any food, but their menus looked nice and had a very nice selection. The apartment was very nice. Everything was clean, the whole facility and the rooms. Everything was beautiful.

Brookdale Palma Sola is very clean, and the people are really helpful. They will help you get through anything -- whatever you need -- and they've been working with me since day one. They're very good at what they do. The rooms are very nice. We're getting my brother a studio, and it's a nice, big studio. It has a nice, big bathroom, and it has a really pretty window with a nice view. I think it will be really good there. As far as I can tell, they keep the facility up really well. I looked at the food menu as to what they have, and they provide choices. If you don't like something, just put it on the list. So it should be all right for him. They have two outdoor spaces where you can go out to sit and visit. It has greenery, trees, bushes, and flowers; it's really nice. They were playing bingo when we walked in, and some of them had just returned from a little bus tour. They take them wherever they want to go. If he wants to go shopping or to a store, they will take him, or the bus will take him. I think it's wonderful. The staff who gave the tour was absolutely wonderful. I talk to her all the time, and she's always there for me; she's great.

My mom will be moving into Brookdale Palma Sola, and the main thing was the accessibility for her dog. They had an area where it was really easy for her to have her dog in the room and let it out thru a patio door at night; that sealed the deal for her. I guess my mom is not happy that they didn't have a little kitchenette with a kitchen sink. They put in a little kitchen cabinet counter for her with a refrigerator and a microwave, but she's not happy that she doesn't have a kitchen sink. The staff is great. The place is close to me; it is less than a mile. As far as like a pool, everybody's different. She didn't care about something like that. She liked the fact that there were exercise programs every day; she does try to do what she can to stay as balanced and strong as possible at her age. It was something that she really liked. I liked the fact that (if something were to happen where she would need an X-ray) they have someone that brought a machine in to make it easier. They had different little trips, like to go to the grocery store with their van. Also, they had medication delivery from Publix, and she already gets medicine from Publix. They would bring it to the facility instead of me having to go pick it up, so those were also selling points.

Brookdale Palma Sola was very well put together and seemed to have a lot more things for the residents to do. It had a good, clean environment. It overall looked pretty good to me. They had an activity area, a salon, a library, and a rather large outdoor courtyard area. The staff was very pleasant, very informative, and I felt comfortable with them. I had a meal there. The dining area was very large, had very nice tables and chairs, and the food looked very well put together, and very tasty.

Brookdale Palma Sola was very clean and well kept. They had transportation available. It felt homey, and the dining area was very nice. The staff was very good. The facility was nice, but it was dated and it needed to be updated. I suggest more groundskeeping, get more flowers in there and have a flower bed and topiaries to liven up the place. Parking was good.

Brookdale Palma Sola was very good. My mother-in-law always complained about the food, but I ate there, and it was perfectly acceptable. It wasn't gourmet, but it was good. They were renovating while she was there. While she was there the care was pretty good. We were happy with what they did, and she was happy as well. They had activities like exercise classes and gardening. We took the corner room, so she had two windows. It wasn't large and it didn't have a kitchenette, but it was sufficient for her.

I was at Brookdale Palma Sola. It was nice, clean, and well kept up. The staff was very professional. They took good care of me. The food was very good. They had bingo and trivia. The room was just a bedroom with a TV, and that was about it. The place was a very professionally set-up. The food was very good. The activities were very good too.

Brookdale Palma Sola is OK. My father is there right now. His room is not big, but it has carpets and they said they'd replace them with laminates after a year, but they haven't yet. My father has a catheter bed, but it leaked the third night he was there, and it took them three weeks to clean the carpets; I probably asked them four times to do it. They're slow to react. We chose the place because they have an RN on staff from 7 to 7. It was more complicated because he has a catheter bag with special needs, and they offered the best solution for it. He likes it there. It's not bad, but it doesn't give as much attention to each resident. The food is fine and they have all kinds of activities. My dad also likes that they offer transportation. My main concern is that they expect everyone to be independent, but it's an assisted living community. The staff is very friendly, though.

We put Dad in Brookdale (Brookdale Palma Sola). We really like it. It was the nicest one we looked at. They do a lot of activities. It’s a really clean place. They serve really good food. They have other things that entertain the residents there all the time. Their staff is remarkable. I’m happy about it.

Wonderful staff, very caring. Physical therapy was right there on-site, which was great. There is always a monthly calendar of events, which is very effective as far as, let’s say, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. There were always events to look forward to. I think for a lot of families, the deciding factor is finances. Brookdale Palma Sola is one facility that’s carte blanche versus a monthly fee.

We visited Brookdale Palma Sola for my mother. We liked it, but it was too far from where she lived. The studio apartment was the same size as the one she has right now. They had another apartment that was a little bit bigger, and they had a one-bedroom apartment, too. The dining room was very nice and attractive. The grounds were nice. They had the same activities. If you were in the independent living area, it was just like going to an apartment. However, if you wanted your laundry done, if you needed medication supervision, or if you needed help getting a shower, all of those were extras. However, the assisted living part included everything.

We really liked Brookdale. The person who led us around did an excellent job. We liked it just from her talking, but there weren’t residents milling around. Apparently it was after lunch and on a weekend; everybody was in their room. The common areas were not well lit. They didn’t have simple basic stuff like a hand rail in the hallways. Their furnishings were a little dated, but it was not a big criteria. It was clean.
