My parents have been residents at Pasadena Highlands for over 3 years now. They have a caring staff and they take good care of my parents. They're all good and they're very friendly. They have quite a few activities and programs for them. They have a movie theater, and they have different outings. They have different events to socialize them.

I like everything I saw at Pasadena Highlands. It's beautiful. I'm interested in a studio unit. The rates are affordable, and that's an important thing to give it a high rating. The people in the lobby seemed to like it and enjoy it. There's so much going on. There's a restaurant-like dining room, too. The landscaping is marvelous. We went out and sat out and spent time there. There were people who were living there who did not need total care, and they were coming and going. And it's accessible to parking and visiting. I was surprised that there is something this lovely that is close. The staff is wonderful. They're kind and patient. We took up a lot of their time with questions and getting to see the place. The tour was very efficient. I was very impressed with that. It had everything there that I wanted, so that's why I settled on them. The other thing is that it's clean. I would highly recommend it.

I toured Pasadena Highlands. It was pleasant. They didn't feed me. The lady who took me on the tour admitted that they were working on their food. So, even though I didn't taste it, it's probably just standard institutional food. It's not bad, but nothing to write home about. Some people that I met were friendly. It was a pretty good community. It would have been better if I had been able to eat lunch with some of these people and get to know them. The staff, they were helpful. The lady who took me on the tour, Ariana, was a very pleasant person and she was very informative. They have most of the stuff, but it's kind of small. The exercise room was small. The price of the rooms was kind of where most of the places were, but I was surprised that this studio was $4700 a month and the one bedroom was only $5000 a month. The $5000 a month, included one meal a day. If you wanted a full three meals a day, the price was $5500. All the rooms had a two-burner electric range, a microwave, and a small refrigerator/freezer. They all had that, which is good. It gave you the option of cooking your meals if you want to do so, and I thought that was nice.

We had an outstanding experience touring Pasadena Highlands. They had everything. They had a barbershop, a beauty parlor, and excellent dining. It was like a family environment. It was very nice. The staff knew their facility. They did a good job of presenting it. The apartments were very modern and very cozy. Everyone that lived there was engaged.

For somebody who needs a lot of help, Pasadena Highlands was very good. At that time, I needed it for my husband, who needed assistance in cooking and housekeeping. The staff was very helpful. They were well organized and the place was clean. They go out somewhere, and they had activities inside also. They had a schedule of activities that the residents do every day or every week. It seemed like they help them not just stay in the rooms. It's pretty pricey, and the room wasn't furnished. From the menu, the food looked pretty good, and they had a nice dining area. They had laundry and housekeeping. The place looked very nice and secure.

We toured Pasadena Highlands. It was a lovely building with lovely gardens. Each of the rooms has a balcony. They have lovely rooms with very high ceilings. It was very airy and light. Everywhere we went, everybody said hello. They have lots of activities for people to get involved in. They just seemed to want to care for my father the same way that we want him to be cared for as if he were at our house. The staff was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions, and we had lots of questions. She was very friendly and was prepared to talk to us. There wasn't anything that she couldn't answer. We went between lunch and dinner, so we didn't try any of the food, but the dining room is lovely. In the rooms there is a little kitchenette with a refrigerator. There was a microwave and I believe it even had a little cooktop, like a little one-burner kind of thing. I didn't see an oven, but they did have appliances. To my understanding, that building was originally independent living apartment for seniors. And as the need progressed, they added assisted living and memory care. So, it was little apartments. They have beautiful grounds, absolutely gorgeous, and well taken care of. The outdoor garden area is beautiful. It's large with tables, umbrellas, and a walking path. So, somebody with either a wheelchair or a walker could walk a path around the gardens.

My parents moved into assisted living at Pasadena Highlands more than seven years ago. It was a difficult transition for them but the staff made it as easy as possible. They took tender care of my mom until she passed in 2019, and then helped us know when it was time to move my dad to the memory care unit, and ultimately when it was time to bring in hospice for him. He passed away last week and they were right there to ease his transition and ours. The facility is clean and comfortable, food is good, the activities are plentiful and varied, but most of all the caregivers really care about the residents and families. We feel lucky to have found this place for the last years of our parents' lives.

My tour at Pasadena Highlands was good. They had an open-house thing where you could go in, and they showed us around a little bit. The staff who assisted me with the tour seemed pleasant. The rooms were really nice, the place was more modern than the other places, and the grounds were really nice and lush. They had a reading room, coffee machines, exercise, and a beauty salon (a lady is there once a week), and the place looked easy enough for my mom to get around. They had a weird sandwich that they gave out, but it was Saint Patrick's day so it was fine. I am just not a fan of corned beef, but it's fine.

Pasadena Highlands seemed very nice and very capable. It's a little bit on the large side and falls on the pricy side. The dining area was very pleasant. There appeared to be a lot of activities. They had an art room. The staff was very friendly and informative. It's very clean, but it's a little bit too big for me.

Pasadena Highlands is extremely good; I like the setup and everything. The dining area is nice; I sat there to eat. They sent us home with samples of the food their chef had made. I noticed that they had billiards and first-rate movies, not something from 1930. I noticed that there weren't people sitting in their wheelchairs with their heads down. They were actually getting ready to prepare for their New Year Eve's party. The staff is very professional, I don't see them talking down on their patients even when the patients get fidgety or fussy sometimes. In this community, the patients are engaged. In fact, the one introducing the people is also a patient, and I can't get over that. They look to make sure that the patient can actually handle a particular food. They sent her food home to eat, to see what she thought of it, and she loved it. What I like is that the residents are treated like human beings. There were a lot of people in this particular community, so at first I said "Oh, no." But then as I walked up and down, and looked at the things they were doing and their attitude to their patients, I was sold.

I've been here at Pasadena Highlands for a year now. It's a nice, large, well-run facility with nice grounds. It's not as intimate as a smaller facility, but it's adequate for me. The staff is very nice. It's well maintained. They have exercise classes, bridge, and bingo. The dining area is very nice. The food is something that we all think could be improved. It's rather expensive.

We're moving Mom to Pasadena Highlands. It's really nice, and the rooms are really nice and updated. The staff is very informative, and they followed up. They have lots of activities and a very active calendar. The dining area is really good, and my mom liked the food.

I was impressed with Pasadena Highlands. It’s a consideration if I go south as opposed to northern California. I had lunch with them, and the food was fine. I saw the people, and they were very congenial. It’s a large apartment complex, but I didn’t care for the layout. I think that the rooms were too institutional and didn’t have any character. They reminded me of hotel rooms.

Pasadena Highlands was really nice. It was just too small. My dad needed more outside space because he was more of an outside person. If you would leave him inside the facility for 24 or 48 hours, he would get really agitated and would be out of his personality. They only had one little patio. It was on the second floor, and it just wasn't conducive on how he needed to live. The staff was very responsive. The price was within the range, but it was just not a good facility for him specifically because he needed an outside space.

My sister was living in Pasadena Highlands. She had a beautiful 2-bedroom apartment that she could have been happy in forever. I loved that part of it. The place was very nice if you didn't need a lot of care. Food was not as good as the ones from the other community, but it was decent. If you're able to be an active resident and participate, I would say that their activities were pretty good. My sister had an injury, and a lot of things happened. But they couldn't keep up with what she needed to do. If we're talking on a different level of what she needed before she had the injury, she was 100% happy with them, but after the injury, they got new management, and things in that way changed. If you have your faculties -- or most of them -- and you don't need a whole lot of care outside of where you're living, it's a very nice place to be. It's more for senior residential living than for memory care.

I liked Pasadena Highlands very much, and I am seriously considering it as a possibility. I like the rooms, but it’s very small with a kitchenette. I like that they give you three meals a day, but the dining area was very small. I didn’t see the a la carte menu; you have a choice between two, but it looked good. I liked the balcony; it was huge. It made me feel at home.

We found a place in Pasadena Highlands that my mom likes. The staff is very friendly and helpful during a very difficult time. The facility is very clean and very nicely appointed. The common dining room and the rooms are very nice. They have been very attentive to giving her the care needed. They have a gym and a lot of outings and things for them to do. I don’t have any complaints about this community.

Great location, nice size rooms, very accommodating, did what they said they were going to do were the things that we liked about Pasadena Highlands. My client is very happy. The one thing that they have that I think makes all the difference is that every unit has a lovely balcony, so you have outdoor space. That makes extra living spaces, and it is very nice. They keep it well. They have a lot of social things that they do. The dining room is lovely. They have a great staff.

The rooms were very nice at the Pasadena Highlands, and there was a nice view of the mountains. There is a patio in the memory care. There was a wall in between the bedrooms -- two people sharing with a big room with a wall between. They had classes and a movie theater, and they seemed to have a set schedule of activities; that’s for memory care people.

Pasadena Highlands was very nice, and they've got everything there. Care was not far from the hospital. It was the most affordable of the places we visited, and it's probably the one we're going to go for. They had two bedrooms -- which were very nice -- with a view in the upper floors. It was more of a condo feeling.

Pasadena Highlands is terrific, and it is perfect for my mother-in-law's needs. It feels more like a home than any kind of care facility. The rooms are very spacious. From what I have seen, everything seems beautiful in and out. It has a very nice feeling, and the apartments are just beautiful. They have entertainment nights in some nights. They have a beautiful dining room. They have games and bridge to play, and they go on outings.

We chose the Pasadena Highlands over other similar assisted care living facilities in the area because it offers the most activities. For example, there are weekly field trips, concerts, a variety of classes and other activities for the populace, which are geared to the different levels of ability/disability of the residents. The facility has its own van that accommodates wheelchairs. Also, Friday services for Jewish people are offered. They have special events where families are invited to eat for holidays.Carla, the director of the assisted care segment of the building, has always been easily accessible and responsive. The care givers do a variety of things for Mom, such as helping her bathe and dress/undress. They also change her sheets every weeks, make her bed every day, bring fresh towels and toilet paper as needed, vacuum her apartment and take out the trash. They are very sweet and careful with her, but Mom says they often seem to be in a hurry.Mother's apartment is a one bedroom and she has all of her own furniture and collections. I've walked by some of the apartments on the assisted care floors when the doors were open and some looked sparse like hospitals rooms. Breakfast is brought to Mom's room every day and then has her dinner downstairs in the dining hall, which is lovely. It's like a fancy restaurant with white table cloths and china. She does complain about the food sometimes is tired of chicken. But I find the food delicious and healthy. They have a low sodium policy. The servers are very professional and the guests are treated like they are special. For lunch and dinner, the tables are assigned seating so people who are alert and talk don't get stuck with people who don't talk. For those who are not able to or interested in going downstairs for dinner, there is a smaller dining hall on one of the assisted living floors that is mostly used by folks who need help eating. It also has white table cloths and nice china. They get the same food as those who eat downstairs. Mom was shy at first, but now can't wait to go eat so she can see her friends that she sits with.Mom had Life Alert before moving in, but the building has its own version of that and she wears a similar necklace with a button to press if she's in trouble. The lobby of the building looks like a hotel lobby. Visitors must sign in and out, and we also have to sign Mom out and in when we take her off the grounds.A podiatrist comes to the building and cuts her toenails regularly, and there is also hair salon where she can have her nails done on the premises. These services cost extra. There is staff to do repairs and maintenance and the response is pretty quick (heater doesn't work, plumbing, etc.)My only complaint about the building is that there are only two elevators. Sometimes Mother has to wait 15 minutes before she can get into one of them since they are very crowded at mealtime. I think the building has eight stories. Other than that, we're very happy that she's there and feel confident that she is safe and well cared for.

My friend and I went to see the Pasadena Highlands assisted living facility while looking at places for his mother to live. We especially liked the garden and park-like atmosphere of the grounds. His mother to spend time at the park. The main foyer had a nice receiving area, like that of a nice motel or stately manor with fresh flowers and comfortable furnishings. The interior of the whole facility was clean, fresh and bright. The communal areas featured rooms where seniors can read, play games, socialize, relax and participate in arts and crafts. The staff at the facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks. Aerobics and yoga classes are also offered. They host a daily happy hour and have a piano room where seniors can either play, sing along or simply enjoy the music. There is also a full service salon where they can enjoy many amenities. Private units are beautifully decorated, many with stunning views, all with a great deal of natural light and fresh air, through very large windows. Most units come with either a balcony or a terrace. Each unit had easy access kitchenettes. Events and outings scheduled include many options - from restaurants, to art museums and the library, which his mother really likes. The activity calendar is updated regularly to include all of the great things that Pasadena offers regularly. They host monthly celebrations and encourage friends and family to attend as often as they can. There is an active theater community in Pasadena and residents see films and visit eateries and other local establishments. Residents can choose whatever they like from a restaurant style menu that is changed regularly. The food choices all looked nutritious and delicious. Regular snacks are also offered whenever desired. Staff appeared to make every effort to ensure that the residents were both safe and comfortable in this very nice and accommodating living environment.
