They go beyond their duties and go out and get donations to ensure that everyday is a holiday for these residents. The nursing staff you couldn't ask for a better group a nurses. Cypress Cove Care Center is closer to our home. It's a nice facility. It seems like they take care of the patients. It's clean and kept up nicely. My mother-in-law is in rehab there now. The staff seems nice and caring. She seems to like them. To me, from what I've seen, the food looks good. But she's kind of a picky eater, and she doesn't eat a lot. Right now, my mother-in-law is in rehab, so she is not able to do anything, but they take them out to the mall, they have games to play there, they have a movie night where they go into the dining room, and they have movies and have popcorn, stuff like that. It seems like they have different activities that they do. They have a salon. They have a lady that comes in twice a week, and they get their hair cut or put a conditioner in. My mother-in-law is supposed to get a haircut last Wednesday, but the lady didn't come.

My mother was in this place for less than a week for therapy after getting out of the hospital, she was not sick just needed her strength back in her legs that's it!! Several times the room was nasty and she wasn't cleaned!! We visited her on Saturday she was fine therapy said Thursday and Friday she was good and at 5:04 Sunday morning they called to say she died!!! At 4am she spilled some water so they said they had to change her and her bedding which means they got done walked out the room and back in and suddenly she had died???? We don't know what happened they put on death certificate she died from dementia!! NO SHE DID NOT!!! WE just wish we had never let them send her there now my mother is gone and we don't know how or why!!! Wouldn't send my dog to this place!!!

My mother was a patient in the rehab of this facility maybe a month and a half ago. They've really turned it around in the past few years with new staffing. (My mom had been here before for hip replacement therapy). The food could use some work. And I wish they weren't so short staffed. But the workers who did work were great. We had the best aides in the building. If I remember right, their names were Jennifer and Jodi. They both catered to us promptly and efficiently. They were always so nice. Every little need, from a cup of ice, to hugging us goodbye...it was no issue! I would DEFINITELY send another family member here! Who knows? I might just admit myself one day. Get as spoiled as my mom was!!

Mom mother was a resident her and this was the worst experience ever. They OFTEN left her unclean after she used the bathroom on herself since she was bed ridden. Upon on visit she had stated she hadn't been changed since the morning before (approx 36hours) her clothing, was soaks completely from head to toe, and her bed sheets and blankets were so soaked it was dripping onto the floor. They often neglected to give her her medications when nended. Some of the nurses and nurse techs curse at the patients. All around I suggest avoiding this place.

While I was there as a residence in the fall of 2014, this facility was very poorly maintained and had health issues. The floors were not kept clean...There was dead bugs behind the window blinds that had been there for what looked like years; windows were so dirty that you could hardly see through them. It was hard to get a nurse after the first shift everyday...I was neglected many times while I needed assistance or needed my medications; especially on the weekends and after the first shift weekdays. Sometimes the nurse would not give me my medications at all on the second shift; although I sent an aid to tell her I hadn't had my medications yet. I spent numerous days without a bed change...If I asked for one they would make it up without changing the sheets, etc, If i was looking for a nursing home or a rehabilitation center; then I would pass this place up. I had to go there since there was no other rooms available in the area, when I had my hip surgery. i will say that the physical therapy was good and very effective...Other than that there wasn't much to be thankful for there!

I was in Cypress Cove Care for 21 days. The service and everything else was good. The dining room is nice, but the food isn't. I had two other roommates and we share one bathroom. They didn't have a bus or any vehicle to take me to the doctor.

The facility had daily activities, social gatherings, a large dining area, and more. It also features several indoor and outdoor sitting areas. The staff was always incredibly attentive and very courteous. If medication was to be given while me or my mom were visiting, the staff would always knock. They also had a very secure process to allow for residents to leave with family members. The building was always kept very clean in spite of it being a very old facility. One thing that my grandmother always enjoyed was the food. The facility always seemed to be well staffed and nurses were never far off if you needed something. Probably the only real complaint I have about the Sunbridge facility in Tuscumbia, AL is the fact that because the building was clearly old, it sometimes just looked depressing. Obviously, people in assisted living/nursing homes know that this may be the last place they live, but that doesn't mean the building has to LOOK like that.

During my grandmother's stay at Sunbridge Nursing Home, I visited her many times. Every time I and my other family members would enter the building, it would smell of urine, which was quite repulsive and sad to me, knowing that my grandmother was breathing that daily. As far as the staff is concerned, I never personally had an issue with anyone, but I know that on many occasions my grandmother would be left unclean if she had had an accident, for hours at a time, hence the probable cause of such an odor of urine throughout the facility. My grandmother had a roommate who seemed to not be completely in her right mind, and would periodically go through her things. When I was visiting her once, I personally witnessed the roommate going through my grandmother's mail. At the time, my mother was also there and told the lady that her mail was on her table and that the mail she was looking through was my grandmother's. The lady then turned around and looked at her in the eyes, snatched a tissue out of the the tissue box on my grandmother's table, and said "I stole one!" While this was somewhat amusing, it was also alarming because no one was able to be there to keep watch of my grandmother's things or to monitor the behavior of the roommate. I was a little afraid of the roommate and did not like going there when she was awake because at times she would just become angry for no reason, or she would yell at us for no reason. Since there was only a curtain between my grandmother's bed and her roommate's it was impossible to get away from her unless she was asleep or out of her room. My grandmother did not stay at this facility long, we could not handle the fact that she would, at times, be neglected (bathing, cleaning her up after an accident), and the smell of the facility itself was not acceptable.
