My business has been opened only a year and a half and Donna was one of the first caregivers I added to the registry. She has become a friend and a sounding board as well as being an outstanding caregiver.

Caregiver's Best Skills and Attributes:

Donna is an extremely positive person. She brings peace and happiness wherever she goes. She has taken even some of the most depressed clients and made them smile. She even got one up to dance! She has been a shoulder to lean on for a family with a loved one on hospice and she did whatever she could to ensure they had reliable care. Even if it meant doing an overnight and then staying for a day shift. She is also very experienced so she can offer clients and their families some assistance in doing what's best for the client when she can't be there. She supports other caregivers and an excellent team player. No one complains when they come in after Donna and they may even find an extra piece of cake!

They tell me repeatedly what a joy she is to have in their home. That they never have to worry about their loved one when Donna is coming. Clients can't wait for her to come because she just has a way of putting people at ease, helping them deal with their illnesses and try to enjoy the day however that may be. She doesn't wait to be asked to do something. When the client is taken care of she goes on the clean, make a meatloaf for dinner or do laundry.

More About This Caregiver:

She has been an enormous source of information for me as far as understanding the business, dealing with caregivers and what clients expect from their home care agency. She has also shared a case with a novice CNA and she has shown her better, easier ways to handle situations in the home.

I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award. As I have been growing my business Donna has been willing to take any little case I have had available. I know that she desires to make more money but she has been loyal to me. I feel this reward would be a bright spot in her a career at time for her personally when she could really use it.
