Buying Hearing Aids From Widex

Widex makes it simple for potential customers to discover the right hearing aid for their needs. The company provides three steps to improved hearing:

Take the Widex Online Hearing Test

Widex offers a free online hearing test that allows users to test their hearing in both the right and left ears. The test checks the user’s ability to hear high and low frequencies. Once the 5-minute test is complete, users will see a results page detailing their hearing abilities for each ear. The company recommends taking the test by wearing headphones.

Book an Appointment with an Authorized Dealer

After completing a hearing test, users who need a hearing aid can book an appointment with a local hearing healthcare professional. Users can provide their local information and get connected to a nearby hearing professional to set up an initial appointment. Users are not obligated to make a purchase during this appointment, but they will have the opportunity to try out a Widex hearing aid of their choice and make a purchase if it seems like a good fit.

Receive Service and Support

After purchasing a Widex hearing aid and working with an authorized dealer to set it up, users may have additional questions. The Widex support and care page offers downloading of product manuals, service forms, and more. The page also provides information on downloading smartphone apps for extra device customization. Additionally, the website  offers information regarding troubleshooting problems with the hearing aids as well as contact information so users can speak with a professional about any issues.

Widex’s Mobile App and Accessories

EVOKE App

The EVOKE app leverages machine learning to gradually make adjusting an EVOKE series hearing aid simpler and faster. The app allows users to take complete control of their EVOKE hearing aid through a range of different settings. The app’s SoundSense feature allows users of EVOKE models in the 440, 330, and 220 technology levels to create their own sound programs for various environments. The app also lets the user adjust the volume on each hearing aid individually, select their own hearing direction and stream audio from their iPhone or select Android smartphone.

TONELINK App

This app eliminates the need for a remote control and Bluetooth or assisted listening devices. Functions include program selection, volume adjustment, mute, and user-selected directional focus. Users of iPhones and select Android devices can use this app to adjust key functions without ever touching their hearing aid.

MOMENT App

The MOMENT app allows owners of the MOMENT hearing aid to customize their hearing experience from a single smartphone app. Users can personalize their hearing with a sound mixer, equalizer, and personal programs. The remote control feature allows for volume control, mute/unmute, right/left adjustments, and more. Audio streaming settings allow users to stream audio directly into their hearing aids. The app also includes helpful FAQs and user manuals so owners can understand every option available to them.

Remote Care App

When users need help from an expert to make their hearing aids function properly, the Remote Care app makes it easy to connect with an expert. Users simply connect to a live technician via a video call to discuss their specific hearing aid issues. The Widex employee on the other end of the line can then guide the user to the solution they need. No need to schedule an appointment with a specialist and wait days or weeks to fix a hearing aid issue—just use the Remote Care app to talk to a live technician at home.

RC-DEX

The RC-DEX is a small and user-friendly remote control for any Widex hearing aid. The remote is small and discreet so users don’t have to touch their hearing aids to make adjustments. The remote control allows for function control, feature activation, and quick adjustment as needed. Small enough to fit on a keychain, the RC-DEX is a small and convenient tool for making on-the-fly hearing aid adjustments.

TV PLAY

TV PLAY is the perfect solution for those who struggle to hear the television even with their hearing aids. This device won the Red Dot Award for design in 2018. The dual antennas deliver supreme streaming stability, allowing users to move around without losing connection to their television. Combined with the EVOKE app, users can control their listening experience by eliminating other sounds, enjoy a normal conversation while also watching their favorite programs, and control the balance of sounds. The TV PLAY is compatible with Widex EVOKE hearing aids.

TV-DEX

The TV-DEX also allows Widex hearing aid users to have a better TV-watching experience. This wireless device lets users enjoy high-quality stereo sound without distortion or echoes for up to 10 hours. With the “Room Off” feature, users can turn the Widex hearing aid’s microphone off to get rid of distractions around them. The device allows for quick reactivation of the hearing aid when the user is done watching television. TV-DEX also supports audio for music lovers.

Widex’s Warranties and Repairs

Widex offers warranties on all its products as long as they are purchased from authorized dealers. Consumers should be aware that Widex warranties are not valid if a Widex product is purchased through an online retailer that cannot provide in-person diagnostics, counseling, selection, fitting, and maintenance of Widex hearing aids. These dealers are not authorized.

The length of warranty coverage on Widex hearing aids will depend on the model purchased. However, most models are covered for two to three years, though some begin at one year. An extended warranty for an additional one or two years ranges in cost from $75 to $150.

Warranties cover repairs, loss, and damage to hearing aids, chargers, and rechargeable battery doors. Loss and damage coverage does not extend to rechargeable batteries. When filing a loss or damage claim, any replacement offer does not apply to accessories, demo instruments, or custom earrings/earmolds. There is also a small fee for the replacement of lost hearing aids, and the buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping and handling.

Authorized dealers can provide a detailed explanation of the warranty for the model you choose.
