Right now, my dad is at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Rossville). Some of the nurses gave very good attention. However, some of them completely ignored my dad. They wouldn't even put hearing aids in his ears. There were some great ones and there were some that weren't. The rehab was pretty good. The staff seemed to be quite overworked, so the timing for a response was slow most of the time. Some definitely would be a 5 and some of them were 3 depending on how attentive the people were. We were there every day, so we got an idea of what was going on. My dad was requiring his food to be pureed, and they did a nice job of that. My dad just had no taste. They changed that as he got a little bit better, so that was good. My dad wasn't interested in participating in activities, and very seldom did they come in to ask if he wanted to go or remind him of what was there. He was not getting out of his bed very often or sitting in a chair where he could read the schedule. Nobody was going out of their way to make sure he went. They had an ambulance in front of the building, but they hadn't repaired that in half a year, and that looked bad on the outside. They need a little bit of paint here and there. It's an older facility, but the floors were maintained nicely, and the other rooms were clean.

My mother was here for a month. It was a horrible experience. Some nurses ignored by Mom. They wouldn't put her on the toilet when needing to go saying she can go in her depends. They lost her glasses, which were later found in the laundry. Then they lost her dentures, which haven't been found. In the beginning they were communicative about the dentures. Now they are ignoring all calls. and won't return a message. The therapy I wouldn't even call therapy. It was a waste of time. After losing her dentures, she was to be on a soft diet. This never happened. They brought her chicken and ham steak. She was losing weight and supposed to be given a health shake a few times a day. This didn't happen unless they were reminded. We also found her meds on the floor and in her bed.

My husband had rehab at Manorcare Health Services Rossville. His room was bigger than the other ones he's been in, but there were some things I would update. The services depend on the day and time. He's been moved to two different wings, one wing I liked better than the other. At every facility I've been in, the overnight crew and weekend crew have been horrible. The dayshift was great. The food was not good and had very small portions. They had a calendar of events like Bingo, karaoke, and church services. The only thing I liked about it was the physical therapy, which is what he's there for. Physical therapy was great. The facility had a good layout.

Please do not send your love one there. The whole entire staff is horrific. The food is terrible and the place smells like a Zoo. Rehab gym is lacking equipment and the manager ( Marvin)of Reb Department has no clue of whats going on in he's department .We had to visit my grandfather everyday ,to provide food abd make sure he was taken care of. The staff is so rude and unprofessional. Nursing staff would give my grandfather meds that would make him fatigue and he wasn't able to rehabilitate, which is why ihe couldn't fully participate. Got his dys messed up.When we had a care plan meeting, we the discuss and emphasize that my grandfather's Medication makes, him fatigue, so can he have Rehab in afternoon, we were all in agreement, ,couple dys, later the Rehab manager wants to discharge my grandfather. I have when to the rehab manager several with many complaints. The Family will contact the central department. Another thing .my grandfather toe nails was growing in his skin ,who can rehabilitate with that. Whole entire Facility is Horrible.

They hire very unprofessional, unsanitary, and rude nurses. They continue to state how they are a 5 star facility; and I quite frankly don't see how. The state of Maryland needs to shut this place down!

Manor Care Rossville is the worse place to send a loved one to. If you care anything about your relative or loved one do not send them here. The nursing staff neglect their patients. I've spent many hours each day looking after my mother because whenever she rings for help the nurses and techs purposely ignore the bell while they sit at their station laughing and talking loudly as if it's a party environment. Another patient called for help many times and wound up falling, shes almost 90 years old. My relatives had to scream for help for her roomate 4 times before help came and the nurses station is very close to her room. I informed the senior management (3 of them) about my concerns and none of them cared. They were more concerned about shutting me up than solving the problems that plague their establishment. They've mixed up my relatives medication almost everyday, she had to resort to writing down the days and times they administered her meds. One day they came to give her the medication around 6:45pm but they forgot to include other meds and informed her that they'd be right back with the other meds, she kept calling for them every 30 mins and they never returned or responded until 2 hours later. The food she's been served is terrible, one day we couldn't even recognize the meat that she was served and asked the tech and servers, they initially said they didn't know and in the same breath said "turkey", upon asking other staff I was told 30 minutes later that it was "either" pork or beef. My relative is constantly given foods outside of her dietary restrictions set by the doctor. This facility should either be closed down or they should fire their staff and rehire new people who are actually empathetic, caring and attentive...qualities their current staff are lacking...

The social worker chose ManorCare Health Services. The whole place looked decent, and there was no odor in it. The food is also OK.

My mom is at Manor Care - Rossville. All of the staff are very friendly. Whether it be the person at the front desk, the activities directors, the nurses and techs, or the people cleaning the floors - all are welcoming and caring. The nurses and techs are attentive and keep me notified of any changes as they occur. I really feel that she is getting good care. I asked my mom how she felt, and she agrees. She says she is content. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is that the rooms are small, and each room is shared by 3 residents. That can make for cramped quarters, for sure.

Hello ; My wife has been at this facility before for rehab and her care there was fair at best if not poor. During her previous stay which was for rehab ended abruptly when we (the family) were told that she had reached the pinnacle of her care and further rehab was fruitless. We argued to let her continue her rehab since she had only gotten 1 months rehab. this fell on deaf ears and she was discharged. She was sent back to this facility in Junw 2012 for rehab after a 12 day stay ay franklin square hospital. Again we have been told by the rehab people that like before any further rehab would be useless. Like before we took her home and worked with her and she improved greatly over what manor care said she would. I guess well have to rehab her at home to get the desired affect since manor cares professional rehab staff cant do it. After reading the review guidelines for these reviiews im sure miy entry will not be seen because its to negative and sheds too much light on the poor performance at Manor Care Rossville.

My good friend and neighborhood had knee replacement surgery and stayed as a patient at Manor Care during her rehabilitation. During her stay she had great care and support. Their rehabilitation therapists were able to help her work on walking after her surgery and she was really successful. They also taught her about caring for her knees and how to walk without damaging herself. While not a permanent residential facility, it does offer some long term care as well as rehabilitation services. My friend had a nice, large room with ample room for movement. The staff were very courteous and friendly. They took very good care of my friend and were often response for her needs. During one visit the staff even brought up a dinner for me while I visited her. If there is a downside to the facility, parking is a premium and sometimes it can be difficult to find a parking space. However, the facility itself is very well run and open to guests. I would definitely recommend it for anyone need rehabilitation care.

My experience with Manor Care, an assisted living facility in Baltimore, Maryland, was terrible. My grandfather had just had his second stroke and we could no longer provide the level of care he required at home. We chose Manor Care because they accepted his medical insurance, without, unfortunately, conducting a thorough review of the facility. I arrived one day during visiting hours to find my grandfather nude from the waist down and covered in his own feces. I told the nurse on duty and she told me that she was busy and that someone would help me in a minute. Twenty minutes later and there was still no sign of a nurse or caregiver. I was furious and spoke to the director in charge. She assured me that this would never happen again. It did happen again, only this time my grandfather waited an entire night before he was cleaned.
