Aegis of Aptos was beautiful and fabulous. They had excellent staff and nice rooms. It was spacious, but not in our price range. It was clean and the residents seemed very happy and well cared for. They showed us a one-bedroom and a studio.

As a neighbor residing in the development behind Aegis, I must caution against considering this place for loved ones. While the facilities are pleasant, there are serious concerns about the staff's handling of emergencies. Numerous residents have experienced significant falls in the back walking areas, leading to delays in assistance. Regrettably, it has fallen on nearby neighbors to alert Aegis to these incidents. Subsequently, the response time from staff to come outside and contact emergency services has been unacceptably prolonged. This alarming pattern has left many of us in the community worried about the safety of residents in the event of falls along the backyard paths. Additionally, there have been unsettling instances of residents becoming disoriented and lost. If this were my cherished parent, I would seek alternative accommodations due to these concerning safety lapses.

Aegis of Aptos was gorgeous. It was like a 4-star hotel. The apartments were unfurnished but clean, bright, good-sized, and comfortable. The staff who assisted us with the tour was fantastic. She was thoughtful and she engaged us well. She paid attention to what we had to say. This was a large facility, I think there were about 70 residents. And as she walked around, she addressed every single resident by name. I saw the menu of what they're offering, and the food looked terrific. They had trips, music, and lots of games. There are outdoor seating areas for people to talk. All the residents seemed engaged and happy.

My friend will be moving into Aegis of Aptos. It's beautiful, the people are friendly, and I got a nice tour. I didn't see the food, I just passed by the dining area. The room I chose for him is being refurbished. It's gonna be painted, have new floors and new rug. It's a 1-bedroom, it looks spacious, it has a nice view, and it looks nice. The staff during the tour was very nice, easy to talk to, I can call her anytime and she answers. They play games in the game room, they had a library, they had a room with exercise if they wanted, they had an outdoor area that's beautiful, and they could garden if they felt like it. By looking at it, it looked wonderful, but we haven't experienced it yet. The staff was very helpful and very clear on what the cost is. I liked that the facility was really spacious.

My mother was here - Started in the main area- moved to the Memory care area after stroke.. 1. Bed was put near a window- ( large room) on any sunny day she was hot and got very thirsty. Staff was unattentive. Water pitcher was across the room - about 15 ft. away from bed.- She needed water/ tried to get to water since no one was in the area for some time. she fell/ cut her palm rather deeply. when we arrived the same day mid day- she was back in bed- we asked waht happened. they said she tried to get out of bed and fell- we asked for the incident report- none was on fole - ewhich is a cardinal ruke- They came back to us i about 1/2 hour with a inpromptu version. This is actually aagainst the rules I'm told. then then we came back a wek later- she was in the dining area. all she had was a bowl of what I would call soup broth-it had one carrot floatin in the broth. You get better food at Salvation army. Then we walked back towards her room - there was a trail of. shit up food/vomit from another person in the care there. I told the care givers- about the several spots on the carpet- many had been wal;ked through by the patients already-- I asked that they clean it all up- Their response was-- oh that is from a male patient ( they said his name I don't recall the ame.. the employe said .. Oh he does that all ther time. We are geting new carpet soon so-- It's ok. Bottom line-- out in the common area it's all cute / seems really nice// with the activities etc. but when you are put in mermory care- It's basically in humane. DO'T PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. UNLESS YOU VISIT DAILY- You Person is going theough Hell SAD....

Aegis of Aptos seemed like a very nice large home. It was very clean. Everything was modern. They had a dining room where you could choose your meal. They had religious services. They had day trips. They had garden activities, and they had a nice outdoor area. It was very upscale. They had a lot of good activities. They had singers that came in to sing for the folks there. They served 3 meals a day, and you could get food anytime you wanted. They had a nice little area that had fruits, ice, and coffee. It was like a little café. They provided free travel on certain days of the week. The staff was excellent.

Aegis of Aptos seemed really nice, and from first glance, I’d give it a 5. But it is more expensive. The order they were serving was amazing. They were just an amazing order of trays in the middle of the day that anybody could help themselves to between meals. They had live entertainment, they had what looked like a really nice menu, and the seating in the dining area looked like a fine restaurant. The rooms were nice looking, and everything looked really clean.

I visited Aegis. My friend and I love it. It’s beautiful but too expensive to me. The food was exquisite. I went there at tea time, and it looked like you’ve gone to a grand hotel for tea. There was a very nice musical program going on. The surroundings were nice. If you’re still ambulatory, it's walking distance to shops, grocery stores, banks, a drug store, and even a health club. They have their own facilities, like a very nice beauty shop. They allow small pets. The rooms were lovely. You can either have an efficiency room or a one-bedroom. They have all kinds of games, reading, music, presentations, and bridge, and a bus that takes people places. The community was bright and light, like a lovely hotel.

Aegis of Aptos was lovely, very nice, and more upscale. The rooms were nice. If you have the money, it is a nice place to go. The dining room was beautiful, big, and had a view outside. The staff member was accommodating and told me right out that I probably can't afford it because I told her what I could afford, and I appreciate that. It all boils down to money.

We visited Aegis of Aptos, and it looked good. It was all really nice. I didn't go in the apartments. I was just in the dayroom, the dining room and the offices. The place was attractive, clean and well organized and the people seemed happy.

Aegis of Aptos was actually beautiful. We would have used it if my aunt had decided to move. The rooms were very adequate, nice, and clean. It looked like a good place that offered a lot of different things.

We visited Aegis of Aptos, and the staff was helpful. They answered all our questions. The rooms were clean and larger than other place that my family had seen. It seemed very homey and not institutional.

Aegis of Aptos is a very beautiful facility. It's like a big apartment complex almost. The quarters are wide, well-lit and very comfortable. It has an outside are that was completely fenced. There are a lot of places to sit in the garden. I was looking at the memory care unit and it was divided into two separate sections. They have a very good staff-to-patient ratio. They serve quite nutritious foods and they have a lot of options to choose from. It was really a great facility, however, it was just too expensive for us.

The Aegis of Aptos was in the same vicinity where we were visiting the area to look at possible places for our aunt to live in. The facility looked like it was well tended the grounds were neat. The outside area is ample, with plenty of seating areas to enjoy. The interior had a nice decor. The variety of activities offered was impressive. Just about any hobby you might have can be accommodated and more. The staff goes out of its way to suggest stimulating things to do from spending time outdoors to reading, playing games and taking outings in the community. The rooms we viewed were all very clean, well-kept and inviting kind of resembling what you might find at a hotel that rents out small apartments but a bit more personal. The lunch we saw while there which was really delicious. Residents can order from a menu filled with impressive selections. Our aunt loves to be outdoors to exercise, but also use gym equipment, so we liked that the exercise room was large and had a variety of options to choose from. The library had a large book selection much of which was loaned from the local library. Our aunt would really appreciate this. Overall, the facility really looked like a place our aunt would like to live. We didn't see anything missing it just looked like it was all right there, with kind and proficient staff in a secure environment.

Aegis of Aptos is near the ocean, in a nice residential area. The food is great and there are many activities for residents. I really like the Dementia care unit--it is designed from the ground up to accommodate the special needs of dementia residents. Several of my long term care insurance clients have chosen Aegis when living alone at home with disabling conditions became too difficult, and they report 100% satisfaction with the exceptional facilities and care received at Aegis
